Job Summary
This Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Wellness Educator will coordinate the implementation of the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Wellness curriculum for a three-arm NIH-sponsored RCT study that will span three clinical sites within the San Francisco Health Network. This UCSF project aims to test the effectiveness of a pragmatic trial of exercise and disease education for patients with symptomatic COPD. The incumbent will have experience as a nurse educator and be proficient in COPD disease education to ensure optimal patient understanding and uptake of self-management skills over the program. The COPD Wellness program includes weekly sessions with patients split into three components: group exercise, disease education, and guided peer support around weekly topics, plus take-home assignments. Duties include training of at least two coaches on the COPD Wellness curriculum, working with coaches to ensure implementation of the curriculum at two of the sites, leading the delivery of the curriculum at one clinical site, and ensuring fidelity in the delivery of the curriculum across the three sites. The incumbent will also ensure COPD Wellness educational materials are periodically updated and troubleshoot the day-to-day activities of the program. More advanced skills in study flow management will be mentored by the PI.
** This is a 7.5% (3 hours per week variable) contract role with the contract end date 4 years from the start date.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $83,700 - $125,600 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other related field and three or more years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Good knowledge of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
- Good knowledge of exercise and rehabilitation for patients with advanced lung disease.
- Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communication skills; includes active listening and critical thinking in English and Cantonese.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone, regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of the impact on others. Strong problem-solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.

SCOPE OF INFLUENCE

Program Support
- Plan, organize, and coordinate prevention and wellness activities, including trainings, workshops, and presentations.

Job Description
Phillips Academy has an immediate need for a full time Temporary Mental Health Counselor in the office of Counseling Services to begin as soon as possible, serving until December 19, 2025. This position is eligible for partial benefits as required by law, and reports to the Director of Psychological Services.
Clinical counseling responsibilities may include but are not limited to providing individual and group counseling to students; crisis assessment and intervention; and consulting with students, parents/guardians, faculty/staff members, and outside providers. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to contributions to wellness programming in the school community. In addition to working Monday through Friday, there are evening and weekend commitments. The position also includes shared weekday and weekend on-call responsibilities. This unhoused faculty position is paid at a competitive market rate.
This position requires a terminal master's degree in a mental health discipline or a doctoral degree in psychology. Candidates must be independently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Applicants with three or more years of postgraduate clinical experience are preferred.

This role delivers both individual and group learning experiences in participants' homes and on Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) campus that meet MICC standards, promoting participant growth through skill-building, goal-setting, and consistent encouragement. In addition to managing a billable caseload, the Service Educator is expected to adapt to program needs-such as supporting other service areas or providing coverage-to ensure high-quality services across MICC.

Education & Experience
