Our client, a major healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee sanitation and cleanliness operations within their facilities. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site leadership and remote administrative responsibilities, based in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, US . You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to a healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
As the supervisor, you will lead a team of environmental services technicians, providing training, scheduling, and performance management. Your duties will include developing and implementing cleaning protocols, conducting regular inspections, managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a pristine environment.
Responsibilities:
As the supervisor, you will lead a team of environmental services technicians, providing training, scheduling, and performance management. Your duties will include developing and implementing cleaning protocols, conducting regular inspections, managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a pristine environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of environmental services technicians to ensure efficient and high-quality cleaning services.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive cleaning and sanitation protocols in accordance with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., CDC, Joint Commission).
- Conduct regular inspections of all areas to assess cleanliness, identify deficiencies, and ensure compliance.
- Manage the inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Develop and manage departmental work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels for all shifts.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and special cleaning requests.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and staff performance.
- Collaborate with hospital administration, infection control specialists, and other departments to address any concerns and implement best practices.
- Ensure the safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Contribute to the development of departmental budgets and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Utilize remote tools for reporting, scheduling, and communication while also conducting regular on-site supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or custodial management, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Proven experience in supervising and leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, disinfectants, and infection control principles in healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission standards).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, patients, and other departments.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling, inventory management, and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote administrative tasks with on-site supervision.
