Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in planning, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field from a recognized college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience in healthcare design, construction, renovation, capital, and space planning or a high school diploma with ten (10) years of related professional experience in healthcare design, construction management, renovation, capital and space planning.
  • Five years of experience as a manager or supervisor in general construction and/or maintenance.
  • At least five years of experience in hospital construction or maintenance as a supervisor or assistant manager.
  • Must have Certified Healthcare Constructor Certification from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) or obtain it within 2 years of the hire date.
  • At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in a physical and capital planning environment, healthcare environment preferred.
  • NC General Contractors unlimited License is preferred; OSHA (10) hour course.
  • Knowledge and ability to use email, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, CAD, Revit, Navisworks.
  • Ability to communicate through a formal written process as well as face to face with departments, contractors, governing agencies and Senior Leadership.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate.

Responsibilities

  • Track project progress with electronic project control and scheduling systems

  • Strong working knowledge of programming, design, pre-construction, contract management, change management, project delivery methods, building systems/components and technology, schedule and budget oversight, safety planning and oversight, quality assurance, risk management team building, and client-facing relationship building
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Chair, organize and conduct high level meetings for users and design and construction teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Microsoft Project), and some level of experience using industry Project Management Control Systems (PMCS), preferably Procore or Unifier

Job Description - Healthcare Focused Project Manager
**Education And Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred.
+ 5+ years of practical experience in a project administration preferred.
+ Healthcare construction experience required, preferably in California with HCAI knowledge.
+ Experience in construction management preferred.
+ Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Act as an Owners Representative with direct client facing responsibilities.
+ Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
+ Manage the design process with the client and designers.
+ Responsible for onsite quality assurance of contractor work
+ Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of the contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.
+ Collaborate with IOR and HCAI field officials.
+ Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client.
+ Conduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information.
+ Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer, adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment.
+ Provide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and work force utilization
+ Experience working in the occupied space of an active hospital and directly with its end users (Physicians, Staff and Facilities) is preferred.
+ Advanced knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required.
+ Knowledge of design requirements, architecturally significant medical equipment, and industry practices specific to the Healthcare (HCAI) sector in California is required.
+ Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite of tools is required, and knowledge of scheduling database tools such as Primavera (P6) or Procore is preferred.
+ Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is required.
+ Strong collaboration, conflict resolution and team building skills are required and essential.
+ Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to the owner.
+ Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.
**Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities**
+ Ability to regularly communicate with client and team to achieve project goals.
+ Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts.
+ Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed.
+ Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with clients.
+ Ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client's representatives, and team members.
+ Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, Scheduling, Submittals, Change orders.
+ Demonstrated high level of performance in project budgeting, contract negotiations and scheduling.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook) applications and Project software.
