- Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association
Preferred:
- Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program preferred.
- Certified nursing assistant preferred.
Scheduling Requirements :
- Evening Shift, 24 hours per week (2 shifts per week), 11a-11:30p, includes every other weekend and holidays.
Essential Functions:
- The CCT is a direct patient caregiver who assists patients with activities of daily living and provides nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting or providing patients with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
- Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned service
- Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
- Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
- Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from ad mission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

The Nurse Practitioner is prepared to deliver primary health care, including but not limited to: recognition and management of common illnesses and injuries in the Emergency Department setting, some of which may be determined by protocol; provision of care across the health care continuum with emphasis on the early detection and treatment of disease, as well as prevention. Assesses plans and provides patient care under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

What We're Looking ForEDUCATION : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN, and Master’s degree in advanced clinical practice nursing or graduate of post Master’s certificate program for nurse practitioner.
EXPERIENCE : 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred. Two years full time as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner; five years preferred. Knowledge of healthcare procedures; Counseling/advising skills ; Decision-making and problem solving skills; Interpersonal/human relations skills ; Ability to maintain confidentiality ; Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories; Knowledge of health education theory and practice; Ability to maintain quality, safety, and / or infection control standards; Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures; Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise; Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements; Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Prior Meditech experience helpful.

LICENSURE / QUALIFICATIONS : Current NJ Licensure as a Registered Nurse; Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in specialty areas as required with prescriptive authority; PICC certified upon (3) three months of employment; BLS, ACLS, PALS certified(optional); Must be credentialed through Medical Staff Office.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS : Exposure to communicable diseases, blood and blood products, illness, hazardous chemicals, X-rays and fluoroscopy, sharp instruments and needles, and electricity when in clinical areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Includes standing, walking, moderate physical effort; lifting and maneuvering patients; occasionally must reach above head, carry medium to light equipment, and stoop.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lead Medical Services Assistant for the department of Neurosurgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Lead Medical Services Assistant is to serve as a core member of the practice operations team. This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the daily operations of the practice as directed by the Practice Manager to support effective and efficient practice operations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Models and ensures the delivery of exceptional patient experience across all touchpoints including in-person, telephone, and telehealth interactions and provides service recovery when needed.
- Ensures team advises patients regarding preparation of necessary forms and counsels patients regarding paperwork requirements.
- Ensures all pre-certification and/or prior authorization from insurance companies for patient management are obtained at least 10 business days before the IR procedure/surgery date and started at least three business days after received (auth needed work queue).
- Ensures all provider EMR and other correspondence to physicians, patients and other providers occurs within one business day of receipt as evidence by team in basket management.
- Monitors patient flow throughout the day and proactively address delays or workflow concerns, escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Performs any online functions, in the clinical or financial systems, as the technology and processes evolve.
