Summary :

The RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. Job Description:

SCHEDULE:

* 24 hrs/week, part time benefited


* 12 hrs rotating shift (5:30a-6:00p or 5:30p - 6:00am)


* Every 3rd weekend rotation (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)


* Holiday rotation



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and interprofessional team.


* Plans for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.


* Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and performs all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.


* Identifies ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.


* Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.


* Provides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.

The Medical unit is a 37 bed unit that focuses on a variety of medical diagnoses including Cardiac, Pulmonary, Renal, Oncology, Infectious disease, Neurological, Psychiatric, Surgical, and COVID 19. This area is one of the stepdown units to the ICU. Our Regional Medical Center in Neenah is a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a specialized patient population. This unit is a fast-paced Medical unit that works closely with the Provider Hospitalist Team who is in house 24/7 to attend to our patients needs and is readily available for our patients and team. There is significant multidisciplinary collaboration between Nursing, Care Managers, Providers, and Ancillary Services to ensure high quality care and support is given to our patients. We do an individualized orientation process to ensure each new team member's needs are met and adjusted to their experience and knowledge base.

Our organization is currently on the journey of becoming Magnet Certified and we offer a variety of developmental opportunities for our nurses such as becoming members of our local council, participate in system committee work, clinical advancement program, ACLS certification, and working up to a Charge RN role. This area is one of the stepdown units to the ICU. Our Regional Medical Center in Neenah is a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a specialized patient population. This unit is a fast-paced Medical unit that works closely with the Provider Hospitalist Team who is in house 24/7 to attend to our patients needs and is readily available for our patients and team. There is significant multidisciplinary collaboration between Nursing, Care Managers, Providers, and Ancillary Services to ensure high quality care and support is given to our patients. We do an individualized orientation process to ensure each new team member's needs are met and adjusted to their experience and knowledge base.

• Current Wisconsin LPN Licensure

The Medical unit is a 37 bed Unit that focuses on a variety of medical diagnoses including Cardiac, Pulmonary, Renal, Oncology, Infectious disease, Neurological, Psychiatric, Surgical, and COVID 19. This area is one of the stepdown units to the ICU. Our Neenah Hospital is a level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a specialized patient population. This is a fast-paced unit that works closely with the Provider Hospitalist Team who is in house 24/7 to attend to our patients needs and is readily available for our patients and team. There is significant multidisciplinary collaboration between Nursing, Care Managers, Providers, and Ancillary Services to ensure high quality care and support is given to our patients. We do an individualized orientation process to ensure each new team member's needs are met and adjusted to their experience and knowledge base. We encourage and foster the growth of our team members by providing flexible scheduling around school and work life balance. Our Organization is currently on the journey of becoming Magnet Certified and we offer a variety of developmental opportunities for our nurses such as becoming members of our local council or system committee work, clinical advancement program, ACLS certification, and working up to a Charge RN role. The Licensed Practical Nurse, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice clinician, or physician provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. Furthers the professional practice of nursing at ThedaCare that involves the promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to growth and professional development.

SCHEDULE:
  • Part Time, 24 hr/week
  • Night shift, 5:30pm-6:00am
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation
  • Holiday rotation


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Performs delegated tasks using evidence-based practice and specific competencies to collect data on the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and assists with implementing the plan of care.

2. Assists in meeting the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.

3. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned and performs all functions of the licensed practical nurse that are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.

4. Identifies ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.

5. Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
