**Job Summary**
The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Leader (CCL) role facilitates health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team. Facilitates communication and provision of information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact. Acknowledges their impact on budget and finance through staffing and ensuring safe patient care. The CCL uses critical thinking skills to collaborate and coordinate patient care and manage emergent situations, for the specific assigned clinical setting. Responsible to intervene when unsafe practices are identified. Responsible to make patient assignments based on employee's competencies, scope of practice, experience and patient's unique needs. Demonstrates effective communication skills to negotiate and resolve conflicts with and between peers, inter-professional colleagues, patients and families. **Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Fargo, Fargo Network, Bemidji, Sioux Falls Network and Rapid City. Required in Bismarck and Sioux Falls (Sanford USD Medical Center and Clinics)
Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Minimum of two years' clinical experience preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area. Ava's House is a 20-bed inpatient acute hospice facility. We care for adult and pediatric patients and have cared for patients ranging from the age of one day old to over 100 years old. We offer a collaborative interdisciplinary team that promotes engagement and education. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, patient care techs, social workers, pharmacists, volunteer representatives, and chaplains. Our facility focuses on symptom management and maintaining comfort and dignity at end of life. We provide 24-hour care and could be considered a "Hospice ICU".
We take deep pride in our ability to manage distressing symptoms in medically and ethically appropriate ways. We understand that this is a very difficult time for our patients and their families, and we work tirelessly to meet them where they are on their journey. Our department works closely with all inpatient units, especially medical oncology. Medical oncology staff care for our patients until they are able to be transferred to Ava's House.

**Job Summary**
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services. Patient Care Technicians are multi-skilled to provide expanded services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision screening, drug screens, point of care urinalysis and reception/clerical tasks. Patient Care Technicians have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient care and cultural diversity, relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients from adolescence through geriatrics. Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy. Clean and maintain patient care area(s) or treatment rooms. Monitors stock levels of medical inventory and restocks or reorders as needed. Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care. Must be self-motivated, independent and able to work well with team members. Must be able to work amidst multiple distractions while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills.
**Qualifications**
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum of six months' experience preferred. Experience in a clinic setting preferred. Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment.
