This is a contract-based opportunity to perform complex congenital cardiac surgeries across both institutions.

The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide an estimate of the salary range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Salary offers are determined based on candidate qualifications and experience. The target salary range for this position is 142,100.00-138,100.00 annual base salary. Additional income channels will be determined per the direction of the Department.

+ Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS), with specialization in congenital heart surgery.

The Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is seeking a pediatric and congenital heart surgeon to join the team in Miami, Florida. The ideal candidate will be board certified in Thoracic and Congenital Cardiac Surgery. A track record of technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills are desired. Candidates with several years of independent operative experience are preferred in order to divide cases between two surgeons. Annual surgical volume is approximately 350 cases. The Heart Institute at Nicklaus is the largest pediatric cardiac center in South Florida.

Experience in lung transplantation is desirable.
Faculty will have the privilege and responsibility of teaching cardiothoracic surgery trainees and medical students, and will expand their research and scholarly activities to achieve national and international recognition as they advance the field. Faculty within the Division of Cardiac Surgery have access to a robust research infrastructure related to bench and large animal research, clinical trial and data analytics to allow the development of their academic and research portfolio.
This individual will serve an integral part of the Comprehensive Transplant Center at Johns Hopkins, Johns Hopkins is nationally ranked among the top hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must show successful completion of an approved residency program in cardiothoracic surgery. Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure in Maryland. Candidates must be board-certified in cardiac surgery.

Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full service, tertiary children's hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22 bed PICU, 10 bed Cardiac ICU, a 102 bed NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open-heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017.
