We are seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic with a minimum of three years of experience in repairing mobile mining equipment that is open to being relocated to south LA. This position requires expertise in machine rebuilds, overhauls, and major component replacements, particularly with mining equipment brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Sandvik, and Liebherr. OEM experience is highly desired, along with proficiency in welding fabrication and technical knowledge of hydraulic systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair and maintain mobile mining equipment.
+ Conduct machine rebuilds, overhauls, and major component replacements.
+ Disassemble and assemble/rebuild Frac Transmissions.
+ Perform welding fabrication, including arc welding, metal inert gas welding, arc gouging, and oxyacetylene torch usage.
+ Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of three years' experience in repairing mobile mining equipment.

**Position Summary**
Under the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field. This position requires travel to make field service and repair calls occasionally and attend any required training. The position's primary focus is to diagnose and repair the work equipment, which requires electrical and hydraulic diagnosis experience. The work related to the chassis is limited to performing routine PM inspections and requirements for fuels, fluids, and lubrication.

+ Maintains advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment.
+ Performs repair or preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including compactor, excavator, wheel loader, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations. QUALIFICATIONS:

**RESPONSABILIDADES**

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
+ Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, and tires.
+ Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running.
+ Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers, and chassis charts.
+ Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be.
+ Replace parts, valves, bearings, and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.

This position is M-F with occasional Saturday. Start time 6am to 5pm.
$26.00 - $32.00 an hour DOE.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** :
+ Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of powertrain, electrical and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment, such as excavators, wheel loaders, forklifts, man-lifts, etc. Perform power washing on heavy equipment during routine preventative maintenance.
+ Complete required paperwork utilizing equipment maintenance software program associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
+ Reviews and completes, repairs identified on Daily Inspection Reports.
+ Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
+ Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns that may take place in the transfer station.
+ Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
+ Participate in equipment operator training on best-practices on maintenance and proper use of equipment
**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:**
+ Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
+ Work environment is outdoor or may be indoor repair equipment in the field.
+ Usually well-lighted and ventilated.
+ Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions.
+ Often working alone and is expected to report work status and completion of work through-out the day and end of day.
+ Will communicate with suppliers and outside vendors to obtain parts and coordinate
+ Expect to know personal limitations and ask for assistance when necessary

Our Heavy Equipment Mechanics are experienced in repairing large, off-road, construction type equipment in an industrial environment. The right candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to complete diagnostics, troubleshoot and complete repairs to heavy off-road equipment such as pot carriers, loaders, material handlers, fork trucks, and cranes. Knowledge and experience with diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems and/or electronics is preferred. Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
