- Prepare roadway and highway designs using cad and modeling software.
- Develop plans, prepare technical specifications, develop quantities and estimates, complete peer reviews, and compile design documentation.
- Coordinate with design discipline leads.
- Promote Jacobs quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production.
'- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation Focus)
- Substantial post graduate, years of previous professional engineering roadway design and geometrics experience.
- Proficient with Microstation/Inroads and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D - Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience developing and modeling 3D design surfaces is preferred
- Ability to coordinate all phases of a project is very desirable
- Experience with roadway design, drainage design, estimating, specification writing, and developing other roadways components incorporated into a set of construction plans
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of federal and state design guidelines and design procedures

AECOM is seeking a HIGHWAY ENGINEERING DESIGN TASK LEAD to be based in Eastern Pennsylvania. AECOM has offices in Mechanicsburg, Philadelphia and Conshohocken, PA. This is a HYBRID position and additional office locations may be considered.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership and design coordination to highway engineering designers and associate task leads working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area.
If you are experienced in developing the highway design technical approach, quantities and pricing, while providing technical guidance and oversight to associate highway task leads and designers working under your direction, then this will be a great fit. In this role, you will also coordinate with other project discipline design leads, the highway engineering technical lead or engineering manager, and the project manager to advance project scope and deliverables.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Technical guidance and verification of rigid and flexible pavement designs
+ Technical guidance and verification of signing and pavement marking plans and details
+ Technical guidance and verification of construction phasing plans and maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews
+ Technical guidance and verification of coordinated utility conflict resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs
+ Technical guidance and verification of construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
+ Technical guidance and verification of 3D Model in OpenRoads
+ Technical guidance and verification of technical calculations and reports per client and/or internal AECOM standards

**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, with highway transportation projects located in the United States
+ Professional Engineering License (PE) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain reciprocity/comity based on active licensure in another state
+ Design experience working on projects for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, SEPTA, and/or City of Philadelphia

If you are experienced in developing the highway design technical approach, quantities and pricing, while providing technical guidance and oversight to associate highway task leads and designers working under your direction, then this will be a great fit. In this role, you will also coordinate with other project discipline design leads, the highway engineering technical lead or engineering manager, and the project manager to advance project scope and deliverables.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Technical guidance and verification of design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details
+ Technical guidance and verification of rigid and flexible pavement designs
+ Technical guidance and verification of signing and pavement marking plans and details
+ Technical guidance and verification of construction phasing plans and maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews
+ Technical guidance and verification of coordinated utility conflict resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs
+ Technical guidance and verification of construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
+ Technical guidance and verification of 3D Model in OpenRoads
+ Technical guidance and verification of technical calculations and reports per client and/or internal AECOM standards
+ Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures
+ Verify completion of interdisciplinary technical reviews
+ Contribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budget.
+ Contribute to the development of proposals and other marketing efforts to win new work.
+ Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations
+ Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client's scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making.
+ Provide support to AECOM project managers and technical department managers.

* I-95 RECONSTRUCTION (Philadelphia, PA) - Urban interstate reconstruction including interchange ramp and local roadway re-alignments, traffic control, and utility coordination in final design to mitigate level of service and improve existing conditions
* STATE RD RECONSTRUCTION (Bucks County, PA) - Suburban arterial reconstruction including right-of-way plan development, roadway geometry, pavement design, traffic control, and utility coordination in preliminary engineering to mitigate existing roadway flooding
* SR1 RECONSTRUCTION (Chester County, PA) - Freeway reconstruction including profile adjustments, interchange reconstruction, interchange ramp realignments, multiple roundabout designs, trail designs, and side road alignment adjustments.
* I-81 RECONSTRUCTION (Avoca, Moosic, and Scranton, PA) - Urban Interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, 2 interchanges being fully reconstructed including ramp realignments, intersection improvements, right-of- way coordination, and structure coordination for 15 bridges along mainline and ramps.
**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, with highway transportation projects located in the United States
+ Professional Engineering License (PE) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain reciprocity/comity based on active licensure in another state
+ Design experience working on projects for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, SEPTA, and/or City of Philadelphia
+ Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
+ As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
+ Demonstrated knowledge of OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus ten (10) years of related experience with highway transportation projects located in the United States
+ Design experience working on projects for Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and/or Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC).
+ Ability and willingness to work within a hybrid environment with hybrid teams
+ Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
+ Active participation in local professional societies and/or organizations

**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking an ASSOCIATE HIGHWAY ENGINEERING DESIGN TASK LEAD to be based in Eastern Pennsylvania. AECOM has offices in Mechanicsburg, Philadelphia and Conshohocken, PA. This is a HYBRID position and additional office locations may be considered.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership and design oversight to highway engineering designers working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area.
The Associate Highway Design Engineering Task Lead will utilize their experience to develop the highway design technical approach, delegate design tasks and provide technical guidance and oversight to other highway designers working under your direction. This person will also coordinate with other project disciplines' Design Leads, the highway engineering Technical Lead or Engineering Manager, and the Project Manager to advance project scope and deliverables.
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
