This is a per diem Arrhythmia Monitoring Tech opportunity working in the Holter Lab.
This role will be located onsite at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.
**Job Description:**
Provides technical assistance and administrative/clerical support to Holter Lab, staff and patients; Performs Event Monitor analysis; Learns to recognize and identify arrhythmias through training in the lab.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Schedules appointments and checks in patients. Answers phones, elicits information from patients in order to triage phone calls and distinguish emergent, urgent and routine problems.
+ Applies Holter monitors and event recorders with full understanding of EKG signals in order to obtain accurate and readable recording/data. Explains procedures to patients and family members prior to monitor application and provides teaching instructions with regard to monitor functioning and removal.
+ Receives patient transmissions. Tests signal input to verify that monitor connections are functioning. Performs analysis from the King of Hearts events monitors utilizing computer software (GEMS). Assembles medical charts per Joint Commission standards and ensures all records contain accurate patient identification and documentation/paperwork.
+ Cleans and maintains all monitoring equipment; troubleshoots equipment problems. Maintains monitor and supply inventory; maintains an accurate numeric log number for all monitors which is used for billing and statistical purposes.
+ Performs Event Monitor analysis. Learns and develops skills to recognize and identify more complex arrhythmias through ongoing training in the lab . Rotates weekend coverage with Arrhythmia Techs and works independently.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ High School diploma or GED required.
+ Certificate 1 Certified Cardiographic Tech preferred.
+ 1-3 years related work experience required.
+ Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or a related field is strongly preferred. Familiarity with anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
+ Minimum of 1 year training or experience in cardiac technology, cardiac monitoring or event monitor analysis is preferred or certification as Cardiographic Technician (CCT).

The hourly pay range for this position in NJ is $32.00 to $49.00, plus overtime eligible.

Adhere to established training, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Install complex, multi-phased systems comprised of IT infrastructure and patient monitoring equipment in both clinical and non-clinical environments (build, deploy, and/or integrate solutions). Provide a technical review of system configuration to ensure viability of system performance during implementations; diagnose and resolve electronic, networking, and mechanical problems.
  • Approximately 70% travel across the specified geography is required. The average driving time is 1-4 hours daily. Occasional overnight stays and travel by air and/or train may be required.

  • Youve acquired 1+ year of working experience in the IT technologies or electronics industry, preferably in a field or hospital-based service environment. Experience with patient monitoring, telemetry units, ventilators, and defibrillators highly preferred.
  • Your skills include network configuration and/or troubleshooting experience, and you have obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (or required to obtain within 6 months from beginning of employment).
  • You have a bachelors degree in computer science, electronics, biomedical, or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and above listed experience.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Field Service position.
  • You must be able to:
    • Work in an office/home office and/or remote setting, as well as in a hospital/healthcare environment; adhere to requirements.
