This position will work remote, based in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area, with occasional onsite presence as needed at our Smyrna, Georgia office.
WHO YOU ARE
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven National Account Manager- Home Depot with a strong background in the home center retail channel and an understanding of the lawn and garden category. This role is ideal for a motivated “hunter” who thrives on expanding existing business, building new business, and driving strategic growth. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of sales expertise, analytical capability, and operational understanding to deliver results in a fast-paced, competitive market.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and market share within assigned national home center accounts.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at the customer level.
- Identify new business opportunities within the lawn and garden category and present innovative solutions.
- Communicate and align customer strategies with internal stakeholders, ensuring cross-functional collaboration (marketing, operations, finance, supply chain).
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Lead customer presentations in both small group settings and large-scale meetings.
- Work collaboratively with AMES Home Depot eCommerce team on shared goals.
- Negotiate pricing, promotions, and contract terms to achieve company objectives.
- Partner with operations and fulfillment teams to ensure seamless order processing, supply chain efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Monitor and manage account budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience selling into the home center channel; experience in the lawn and garden category strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Proven track record as a hunter with a demonstrated ability to open new business and expand existing accounts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Exceptional presentation skills, comfortable addressing both small teams and large audiences.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong negotiation, mathematical, and analytical skills, with proven ability to secure favorable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams to achieve customer and company objectives.
- Understanding of retail operations, supply chain processes, and fulfillment methods.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems; ability to generate and interpret reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an effective account strategy for Hunter Fan Co., collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Lead and execute national and regional sales programs focused on increasing product selection, placement, and implementation of Hunter-branded products in Home Depot’s channels.
Achieve or exceed assigned revenue quotas by leveraging a deep understanding of Home Depot’s business structure, goals, and decision-makers.

Collaborate with Marketing and Channel to propose customer-specific product development opportunities and coordinate all aspects of the Stage Gate process.
Work with the demand planner to develop accurate sales and purchase forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and promotional plans.
Lead product presentations, trade show displays, and key product demonstrations, utilizing product samples to highlight key features and benefits.
Organize and participate in trade shows and other customer events as required.
Prepare and deliver competitive pricing quotes, negotiate contract terms, and finalize sales agreements.
Manage the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) executive meetings, providing cross-functional business updates on your business, aligning key stakeholders on forecasts, inventory levels, and strategic initiatives.
Coordinate and facilitate customer training initiatives to ensure thorough product knowledge, conduct store walks to assess product presentation, and provide feedback to enhance customer experience and optimize sales performance across retail locations.
Foster relationships with purchasing, planning, and other support function contacts within Home Depot to ensure smooth account operations and resolution of any delivery issues.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of professional sales or marketing experience, preferably with national accounts in the home improvement industry.
Experience managing national accounts in eCommerce or Pro channels within the home improvement industry is highly desirable.
Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex national accounts.
