GENERAL FUNCTION :
Performs a wide range of duties relating to the origination of residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals. Meets standards and objectives defined by management for mortgage loan sales One Bank objectives . Assumes overall responsibility for the residential mortgage loan from application to closing.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying , assessing,
managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Works with sales leadership and assigned Senior Loan Originator to develop both internal and external referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional , COIs and persona l ).
+ Works with sales leadership and assigned Senior Loan Originator to lear n and master all aspects and components of the mortgage loan originator position.
+ This would include , but not limited to, agency and portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing procedures.
+ Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures, available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting and general departmental guidelines . C ompletes all required training on time.
+ Follow defined protocol for escalation underwriting and pricing exceptions.
+ Take applications by completing URLA on laptop.
+ Utilize available technology and support for communication and access of daily rates, applicant credit reports , origination of loan files and uploading of files to operations .
+ Collect appropriate documentation from applicant (s) and deliver loan package in the time frames set by management.
+ Work with sales leadership and assigned Senior Loan Originator to manage pipeline for all originated loans through closing.
+ Communicate appropriately and timely with branches and/or applicants providing updates and status reports.
+ Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and Fifth Third expectations.
+ Attend and participate in all Mortgage and Consumer Lending sales meetings , calls and training as required by management .
+ Collect application fees on loan applications per policy.
+ Participate in One Bank making appropriate referrals to other lines of business.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma or equivalent mandatory. Four-year college degree preferred.
+ Demonstrated organizational skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communications skills.
+ Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills.
+ Ability to maintain an intense optimism and focus on achieving goals even under adversity.
+ Proven computer skills.
+ Basic sales technique skills.
+ Strong desire to excel in a competitive environment.

We have launched an industry-disrupting digital DSCR loan product that is 100% online, faster, and more convenient than the traditional DSCR products in the market. You'll be a critical contributor to our DSCR origination strategy as you support borrowers sourced via our direct-to-consumer efforts.
This Loan Officer will engage with customers, educate them on financing options, and ensure a positive experience for all borrowers. You'll also work closely with our DSCR-focused Account Managers and Underwriters to scale
What You'll Do- Convert a high volume of company-provided leads into happy Figure customers
- Connect with prospective borrowers via outbound calling initiatives, text message, and email
- Guide clients through their loan borrowing decision - and help them navigate our digital application process to close more sales
- Collaborate with our Account Managers and Underwriters to drive accurate credit decisions for borrowers

- 1+ years of business-purpose and non-QM lending experience, including DSCR products
- 2+ years of experience in sales – with the proven ability to "close"
- Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed sales targets
- Active NMLS licenses
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required (earn overtime pay!)
- Base compensation range: $5 to 32 per hour
- On-target earnings range: 100,000 to 116,000

- The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards.
