Job Overview:
As our newest Hospital Nurse II, you will oversee and provide psychiatric nursing care at Riverview Psychiatric Center. Supervision may be exercised over paraprofessional staff or assigned as a unit group leader. You will apply proper nursing principles, practices, and techniques in the care and custody of hospital patients who are emotionally, mentally, and/or physically ill.
These positions require a highly motivated individual who can adapt quickly in a fast paced, demanding work situation. You must demonstrate a high level of critical-thinking skills that allow you to process a large amount of information, discern the overall scope of a situation, and make sound decisions based on the information, experience, and knowledge of systems and your scope of practice.

- May also visit with patients following admission once at the facility to support the continuum of care and ensure our representation of the facility was as expected
- Demonstrates growth in hospital referrals as demonstrated by an increase of overall occupancy and quality mix in assigned buildings BUT most importantly will attain goals for conversion rates
- Coordinates work with other departments in ensuring we are meeting all expectations of the patient especially clinically.

Position Summary:
Work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. Promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
Detailed responsibilities:
* PATIENT CARE - Deliver safe, direct care to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of an RN Preceptor
* POLICIES - Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
* CARE PLAN - Work in collaboration with the healthcare team, implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching
* MEDICATION - Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
* TESTS AND PROCEDURES - Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained
* EMERGENCY MEASURES - Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
* ENVIRONMENT - Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards
* MISSION AND GOALS - Assist to maintain, support, and implement department and Hospitals mission and goals
