Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Administer union and non-union benefits programs, including pension, 401(k), and health and welfare plans, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Investigate and resolve employee complaints and labor relations issues in a timely and impartial manner.
- Provide guidance on contract compliance, grievances, arbitrations, and employee relations to support labor negotiations.
- Serve as a liaison between employees, union officials, and management to ensure consistent application of policies and agreements.
- Reconcile union benefits billing and verify payment accuracy while tracking hours and maintaining compliance records.
- Manage leave policies, including workers' compensation, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Prepare statistical reports and analyze payroll and benefits data to support audits and negotiations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel transactions, performance reviews, and promotions.
- Support recruitment efforts by screening candidates, conducting interviews, and managing union job postings.
- Assist with onboarding processes and provide resources for relocation and immigration sponsorships. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of labor relations, employee relations, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as ADP WorkForce Now and Enterprise eTime.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM or PHR) is a plus. TalentMatch®
