Job Description

IT Program Manager - HR Technology
Chicago, IL - hybrid WFH schedule

Summary:
This position will be owning a portfolio of projects related to HR Technology, which has a focus on Recruiting Systems (iCims is what we use today for the ATS), Physical Security Systems, HCM System, Compensation and Analytics. You will have 3 Business Analysts (2 senior, 1 mid-level) as direct reports, to assist with requirements gathering. This Program Manager will synthesize feedback from various stakeholders, and own the strategy behind the roadmap for these HR technology projects, and work with the Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee the execution of this roadmap.

What you'll be doing
  • Work across departments to gather and understand the varying perspectives on the portfolio and its solutions - business function, user, technology, security, etc.
  • Stay current with trends in their assigned area - both in terms of business trends and technology trends that influence the area. Maintain awareness of best practices and competitive intelligence of what other companies are doing in this area.
  • Based on the above, determine the short- and long-term roadmaps for their portfolio area - adjusting over time as priorities and technologies change. Communicate and socialize the roadmap to achieve executive buy-in.
  • Make key tradeoff, risk, and other critical decisions to implement the best possible solution for the portfolio, taking into account all perspectives.
  • Champion change and innovation in the area - socializing a forward-thinking portfolio of projects and roadmap.
  • Determine skills needed, roles needed, and create and organize project teams based on resource estimates from the resource owners (Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, Project Managers, etc.). Resolve resource, timing or other conflicts between projects and groups.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills we're seeking
  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in an IT or HR related field
  • 5+ years of experience with IT Program, Portfolio or Project Management
  • 2+ years of experience managing complex IT roadmaps (ideally as a Program/Portfolio Manager)
  • Must have recent experience managing HR Technology portfolios/projects
    • The more HR Technology experience the better, but we are looking for dynamic experience given you will be working with multiple vendors and products in our environment - we do NOT use Workday for everything for example.
    • Having a mix of HCM/HRIS, ATS/Recruiting System, Compensation, Analytics and Physical Security Systems (Access Control, Employee Badging, etc.) would be ideal - but we are flexible with the type of HR Technology experience you come in with, so long you are experienced broadly in the domain.
