- Effectively manage all EHS-related cases, including injury care, incident investigation, corrective actions, documentation, and reporting to internal/external parties as appropriate for the plant
- Partner with the HRBP to maintain working knowledge of work-related injury/ worker's compensation program.
- Supervise the maintenance of all material safety data sheets (MSDS's) to ensure they are always up-to-date and readily accessible.
- Maintain employee industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring and related records for the plant
- Develop and distribute safety materials for daily meetings as well as classroom/hands-on training.
- Develop annual training plan based on the needs of each department
- Manage site compliance with all applicable safety and environmental company policies, regulations and/or permits to minimize risks to employees and the organization
- Ensure that the facility remains in compliance with City, County, OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations, as well as Serta Simmons Bedding EHS standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
**How You'll Do It:**
- Ensure that all required reports are submitted to Corporate EHS and government agencies, as needed (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
- Actively engage in cultural activities within the plant to ensure a positive perception exists within the workforce regarding the EHS department
- Assist Human Resource (HR) Manager in new employee orientation process as needed, including, but not limited to, injury reporting, substance abuse program, and employee return-to-work program
**What You'll Bring:**
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, or another related field.
- Board certified ASP, OHST, CSP, QEP, CIH or other recognized certification/diplomas AND Technical/Management expertise in the areas of Human Operation Performance (HOP), Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Behavior Based Safety (BBS), ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and EHS related systems are preferred.
- Five years working experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment. Experience in conducting incident investigation, hazard analysis/assessments, and problem solving.
- Good working knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA fire codes, ANSI standards, etc.). Strong orientation toward data and financial analysis. Familiar with Lean and Quality Management techniques and systems

**Job Description**
**Position Purpose:**
Responsible for providing and administering environmental, health, and safety programs and related policies and procedures affecting the company's existing and/or proposed environmental health and safety issues. Acts in a liaison capacity with EH & S and H&S personnel regarding interpretation of all policies and procedures, pertaining to technical support and guidance on industrial hygiene, reactive and explosive, OSHA, substance abuse testing, accident prevention, etc throughout the California Branch. **Primary Duties/responsibilities:**
+ Manages branch level implementation of all environmental policies and programs.
+ Manages branch level implementation of all health, safety, and transportation policies, programs, and systems (e.g., hazard communication, emergency response, lock/tagout, confined space, medical program, driver qualifications, vehicle condition reports, random drug testing, industrial hygiene, PPE, PSM)
+ Establishes and ensures implementation of a system for maintaining required facility EH&S documentation, permits and plans.

+ Communicates potential non-compliance issues or practices to appropriate managers within the branch, and as needed, to the Region/Corporate EMD. Sets up and tracks issues to resolution on a timely basis.

+ Reviews equipment process, and equipment process modifications for safety and regulatory compliance.
+ Plans and ensures conduct of regular EH&S meetings for the division.
+ Assists in review of accidents to determine root causes and determinations of appropriate corrective and preventive actions, and track accident trends.
+ Maintains liaison with regulatory agencies and prepares formal responses to draft permits, NOD's, NOV's and other agency requests for information in coordination with regional, corporate, staff, operations, and general manager.
+ Review and provide a summary of all pending regulations to management staff prior to the effective dates. Prepare and initiate implementation plans for new regulations.

+ Provides guidance to all levels of management regarding utilization of appropriate practices in conjunction with regulatory requirements and changes, if necessary.
+ Provides training in environmental, site remediation, reactive chemical operations, emergency response, etc. as needed or requested by local operation sites.
+ Provides appropriate research and investigation to support the development of existing and/or potential new environmental, transportation, health and safety policies as determined by management or required by federal, state, or local governmental agencies.
+ Approximately 10% travel required.
**Qualifications**
**Education / Experience / Background:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline.
+ 5 to 8 of experience in the environmental regulatory or compliance field, with specific experience in hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal.
+ Minimum of 3 years in a problem-solving capacity required
**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:**
+ Strong to expert knowledge of the Resource Recovery and Conservation Act (RCRA). Working knowledge of other federal and state-equivalent environmental regulations, such as, but not limited to Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Clean Air Act (CAA).

**Job Summary:**
The position provides both management oversight and hands-on support and implementation of safety programs for EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc., (EFS) for the account portfolio. The primary purpose of this role is to support the site teams in their execution of the EFS safety program. To accomplish this the role will aid in protection of the client and EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc people and assets by maintaining a strong safety culture, reducing risk exposure and potential liability, and support operational continuity by preventing safety-related disruptions. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with both management and field-level employees. The position requires travel to client sites (up to 75% of flexible travel, potentially more frequent initially) to the client account locations to perform the following duties: Develop and oversee the implementation of safety policies and procedures, conduct safety training and audits to ensure compliance, investigate incidents and near-misses to prevent recurrence, safety coaching, site or project safety assessments, facilitate account safety update meetings, ensure ISN compliance and customer relations. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Drives execution of safety program within the client portfolio. Primary locations are mainly Eastern/Central United States (IL, TX, TN, WI, GA,). Manages site inspection processes (pre-task risk assessment, equipment inspections, etc.) Performs site safety assessments of client facilities to identify existing or potential accident and health hazards, ensuring on site technicians are equipped with proper PPE including NFPA 70E requirements; determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated; lead incident and near miss investigations; submits related reports of findings to management and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Updates local operating procedures and standard SOPs related to the work activities performed at the site location(s) as needed; Ensures that the work our associates do for our clients does not conflict with EFS, Federal, State, or Local regulations. Audits ISN account compliance requirements.
Drives safety training at site level. May conduct training on site or assist with computer training, aerial lift training, ladder inspection training, fall protection inspection training and any other safety related training for all EMCOR Facilities Services technicians on site. Performs new hire orientation around safety related items including initial training as well as a 30-day follow-up training.
Schedules monthly meetings/visits with the assigned client team (s); conducts training, safety talks, and/or equipment assessments.
Demonstrates ownership of safety program through attendance and involvement at site meetings via in-person or virtual (daily, weekly, etc.), pre-task discussions, and other opportunities to interact with field staff in the work environment.
Supports and responds to daily team needs across the organization.

**About the role:**
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to join our team in Duluth, GA. The primary function of this role is to ensure the effective function of environmental, health, safety and security support to operations. Champions environmental, health and safety initiatives in order for the company to comply with related requirements and implement best practices. Works independently and with other areas on environmental and safety projects to create a safe workplace by conducting field observations, inspections and providing guidance on executing work safely.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Reviews existing EH&S policies and procedures, general operating procedures for safety concerns, and makes recommendations for improvement based on current standard methodologies.
+ Implements and maintains safety initiatives to ensure compliance and company's requirements.
+ Promotes safety culture among employees across all company levels by conducting regular safety meetings, giving timely feedback and implementing safety suggestions.
+ Oversees the development, coordination and implementation of safety training for all EH&S topics.
+ Manages third-party safety consultant contract to maximize service resources.
+ Supports all areas to implement EHS actions as a result of inspections, audits and project improvements.
+ Conducts job and equipment hazard analysis. Prepares and deploys related documentation and safety measures.
+ Conducts periodic audits/inspections and identifies hazards and potential EH&S violations. Follows up on safety audits and inspections in all facilities.
+ Drives investigation and analysis of work-related injuries/illnesses, accidents and near misses.
+ Monitors and reports safety key performance indicators and corrective actions. Monitors open audit reports.
+ Supports site leaders to answer OSHA and Environmental organizations, when not related to workers' compensation.
+ Maintains the EHS schedule for all sites, including fire and shelter-in-place drills, workplace violence and first aid training. Updates emergency response plans and their deployment.
+ Conducts safety-related portion of orientation with Human Resources for the onboarding of new and/or transferred employees.
+ Oversees maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) files.
+ Manages site air permit, water, storm water and waste programs including required inspections, monitoring and compliance.
**Education:**
Bachelor-s degree or equivalent of education and experience in Environmental, Health and Safety
**Knowledge / training:**
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
+ Knowledge of OSHA required. Certificate in occupational health and safety required.
+ Knowledge of relevant requirements and industry standards required.
+ Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus
**Experience:**
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience in safety, health or ergonomics role in manufacturing setting required.
+ Experience with safety inspections, problem solving and developing corrective action plans, as well as monitoring and reporting of activities

**A Day In The Life**
+ Oversee safety and compliance programs and processes within the assigned territory including acting as the key contact for regulatory visits; develop, maintain and deploy SOPs related to EHS.
+ Build active relationships with each facilities leadership to better serve the needs of the organization.
+ Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
+ Drive and implement safety vision and strategy while updating specific KPI metrics to drive improvements in distribution performance of proactively reducing injuries, illnesses and risk to the company.
+ Develop consistent process and strategy and work with distribution leadership to hold all accountable for incident investigations and manage the process for any corrective and preventative actions.
+ Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational and occupational conditions. Investigate and review safety violations, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses and accidents with supervisors and distribution center management.
+ Actively work with Supply Chain Safety and Risk Management groups to analyze injury trends and costs to better provide guidance on how to monitor and implement root cause analysis for injury prevention.
+ Provide budget and forecasting recommendations in relation to safety and compliance programs, training, etc.
+ Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, etc.
+ Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
**You'll Come With**
+ Minimum of 5+ years related work experience or training with primary duties in safety and compliance. Bachelor's degree in safety or similar discipline desired, but not required
+ 5+ years of safety experience providing workplace safety and compliance training
+ Strong reasoning, analytical skill, decision making,exceptional organizational skills, critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well with all levels of the Distribution Center.
+ Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.

+ Able to work a flexible schedule when needed.
