  • Checks and makes certain that restrooms are sanitary, well stocked with paper products and inspection cards are completed and in place.   

  • Assists in gum removal and squeegee/mopping up liquids and emptying trash containers in all areas.   

  • Maintains the cleanliness of restrooms, lobbies, foyers, loading dock, terrace/plaza areas, meeting rooms, exhibitions halls, and exterior entrances.   

  • Cleans and maintains all windows, glass chrome and stainless steel in the building (except for "high" glass).   

  • Stocks, organizes and cleans janitorial closets.   

  • Answers guests’ questions regarding the facility.   

  • Maintains proper care of uniforms, equipment, and supplies.   

  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, office space, lobbies, foyer, meeting rooms and exhibit halls.  

  • Empties trash containers.   

  • Safely operates assigned Facility Services equipment upon successful completion of equipment training. Types of equipment employees may be assigned to operate could include buffer, power sweeping and scrubbing equipment, vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooing equipment and extractors, trash compactor, cardboard baler, forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and electric cart. 

  • Other duties may be assigned.   

What You Will Need:  

  • Will train on site. General work experience in housekeeping or custodial maintenance in the hospitality industry a plus.  

  • Ability to understand instructions, policies, and guidelines and the ability to engage in effective communication with the manager and staff. Basic ability to write, understand, and speak in English.

  • Cleans and maintains all windows, glass chrome and stainless steel in the building (except for "high" glass).
  • Stocks, organizes and cleans janitorial closets.
  • Answers guests' questions regarding the facility.
  • Maintains proper care of uniforms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, office space, lobbies, foyer, meeting rooms and exhibit halls.
  • Empties trash containers.
  • Safely operates assigned Facility Services equipment upon successful completion of equipment training. Types of equipment employees may be assigned to operate could include buffer, power sweeping and scrubbing equipment, vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooing equipment and extractors, trash compactor, cardboard baler, forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and electric cart.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What You Will Need:
  • Will train on site. General work experience in housekeeping or custodial maintenance in the hospitality industry a plus.
  • Ability to understand instructions, policies, and guidelines and the ability to engage in effective communication with the manager and staff. Basic ability to write, understand, and speak in English.
  • Ability to understand and follow guidelines, adhere to timed objectives, productivity measurements and similar company standards and expectations. Ability to always apply good judgment. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • General work experience necessary. Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures. Ability to workday and/or evening shifts, including weekends.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, in the presence of fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
  • This position is exposed to cleaning products and chemicals, which are used in accordance with manufacturer's instruction labels, posted on the product.
  • The Convention Center is a 24/7 operation; therefore, hours and days outside of the standard work schedule may be needed.
