**Responsibilities:**

**Qualifications:**

# Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking a HVAC Engineer to be located at site in Ohio to support a confidential semiconductor project within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit. Essential job responsibilities include:
+ Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements.
+ Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
+ When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks. Assists in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations.
+ Understand customer requirements and converting them into design criteria for mechanical systems manufacturing process.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Develop schematic and conceptual designs for mechanical HVAC systems to support manufacturing process.
+ Perform heat load calculations and size HVAC mechanical equipment. Experience in Air Handling units, fans, blowers and platework (ducting).
+ Produce key mechanical engineering deliverables, including CADD models, drawings, specifications and supporting calculations.
+ Review and check the work of subordinate engineers and/or subcontractors.
+ Provide technical oversight of designers implementing mechanical designs in the CADD model.
+ Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
+ Manage engineering subcontracts with their design and delivery per contract requirements.
+ Review contractor shop drawings, technical submittals, and proposals for compliance with project design requirements.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
+ Professional license or registration as a Mechanical Engineer.
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Experience in the design of mechanical HVAC systems for industrial facilities
+ Experience in managing engineering subcontracts with design and delivery per contract requirements.
+ Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the design of mechanical systems, including ASHRAE, ASME, IBC, IMC and NFPA.
+ Knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing design process as an advantage for all positions.
+ Ability to review and manipulate CADD models.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
+ Proven team player with the ability to work effectively within a team.
+ Ability to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

**What you'll need**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of seven years experience as a certified refrigerant technician. Completion a formal apprenticeship program preferred.
+ Valid driver's license required.
+ Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair as well as CFC Certification.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
+ Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operating budgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

**Responsibilities**
Working under limited supervision when supporting assigned service calls, uses sophisticated HVAC skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of HVAC equipment, and building systems
Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with commercial and industrial HVAC equipment such as RTUs, split systems, package units, and chillers
Candidate must have a Q-01 Certificate of Qualification (COQ) for Refrigerating System Operating Engineers (RSOE)
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance
Reviews assigned work orders, estimates time and materials needed to complete repair, orders necessary materials and supplies to finish the tasks, uses CMMS to handle work orders and track completion
Responsible for installation and modification of building equipment systems, and Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety laws
Responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of HVAC roof top units (RTU's) and chiller systems
Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client
Coordinates and inspects the work performed by outside contractors
Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum
Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements
Report and communicate daily all work activity via PDA device
