The Business Analytics Advisor will Serve as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) with direct responsibility for leading modeling efforts from a data production perspective and act as the lead developer for all productionalized modeling implementations. In this hybrid developer/engineering and analytics role you will utilize strong programming skills and be deeply involved with code and model deployment and post-model monitoring.
Additionally, you will provide expert content/professional leadership for complex Business Analytics assignments/projects. You will exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives while providing thought leadership within Business Analytics.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) with direct responsibility for leading modeling efforts from a data production perspective and act as the lead developer for all productionalized modeling implementations
- Lead the development of the overall architecture and infrastructure required for model production, including new data sourcing, code deployment , table and view creation, post-model monitoring, and business delivery of modeling outputs
- Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources to create and support data assets for Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical consumption
- Utilize strong programming skills to explore, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms
- Ensure code is well-documented and can be understood by other analysts
Qualifications
- Expertise in leading modeling efforts from a data production engineering perspective
- Extensive experience implementing productionalized models
- Proficiency in developing architecture and infrastructure for model production, including data sourcing, code deployment , and post-model monitoring
- Strong programming skills with the ability to explore, examine, and interpret large data sets
- Proven ability to develop analytic solutions tailored to business needs
- Excellent documentation skills, ensuring code is understandable by other analysts
- Expertise in SQL , Python , Mac OS/Linux
- Experience with Statistics and Modeling techniques strongly preferred
- Experience with AWS and Databricks strongly preferred
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,000 - 160,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop, maintain, and optimize tools and applications using Excel VBA as well as other programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).
- Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to understand pricing models and business needs.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and working prototypes using the most appropriate technology stack.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability through the use of modern coding languages and frameworks.
- Document code, workflows, and user guides to support tool adoption and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications, regardless of language.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and bring creative ideas to improve user experience, data handling, and technology integration.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Proven experience in Excel VBA development (3+ years preferred).
