Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) is a high paced engineering and technical support unit that assists Ship's Force on Navy aircraft carriers (CVNs) along the East Coast with critical maintenance support covering Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems, and other auxiliary systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's + 3 years or an Associate's + 6 years or High School diploma + 9 years' experience

  • Prior experience working with or supporting U.S. Navy shipboard hydraulic and auxiliary systems -CVN experience highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of Navy maintenance practices , including 3M, corrective maintenance, and technical documentation.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with junior Sailors, Chiefs, and Officers alike-mentorship mindset is a plus.

  • Experience delivering training , conducting system assessments, or leading technical teams in high-tempo environments.

  • Comfortable working shipboard and adapting to operational tempo and conditions.

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $15,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: 95,300.00 - 142,900.00

Description

Objective: The Mechanical Systems Assembler puts together liquid handling and fluid purification products. This person will perform mechanical assembly, piping, electrical wiring, and testing functions following both blueprint and verbal instructions.

Accountable For:

  • Assembling liquid handling, fluid purification, and control panel components (i.e., pumps, meters, reels, filters), parts (i.e., fittings, tubing, switches), and controls (i.e., electrical enclosures, terminals, circuits) to fabricate a complete system onto a frame, skid, or other platform.
  • Maintaining and using hand tools (powered and non-powered) for assembly purposes.
  • Testing systems following QC forms to the level of quality needed and making any necessary adjustments.

With guidance from engineers, this position requires conceptualization and CAD development of components and systems within the landing gear system and includes creation of detail, assembly and installation level engineering drawings.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Using guidance from engineers, conceptualize and communicate with CAD models design solutions that meet program requirements.
+ Make evaluations and calculations such as tolerance stack up, part-to-part interface compatibility, and producibility.
+ Create engineering drawing types including but not limited to test, detail parts, assembly and installation, suitable for use in fabrication and assembly of aircraft components.
+ Create engineering change requests and change notices to facilitate quick and efficient revisions to engineering drawings, including participation in the drawing release process.
+ May be assigned design oversight of a sizeable portion of a project or program.
+ Validates conformity to design standards and specifications and identifies design errors and other deficiencies and recommends changes.
