Shift: Monday to Saturday (one weekday off, must be flexible for a 1st shift)
Pay: $20/hr.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Medical Imaging Knowledge: Understand all imaging exams and modalities, including patient preparations, diagnostic codes, Medicare and insurance guidelines, and pre-authorization requirements.
- Appointment Management: Schedule various imaging procedures (e.g., mammograms, MRIs, echocardiograms) across medical facilities, coordinating specialized Radiologist availability when needed.
- Insurance and Compliance: Follow insurance carrier requirements, Medicare guidelines, pre-authorization steps, and the ABN process; confirm eligibility and pre-screen patients for compliance.
- Data Entry & Documentation: Enter data accurately into scheduling software, verify demographic and insurance information, manage electronic orders, and maintain documentation in Schedule Orders Work Queues.
- Customer Communication: Handle a high volume of calls with professional etiquette; assist patients, their representatives, and physician offices with scheduling inquiries.
- Interpersonal Skills: Maintain positive and respectful interactions with patients, co-workers, and referring offices; encourage teamwork and productive working relationships.
- Training and Mentorship: Support orientation of new employees with training documentation; assist in other scheduling areas as needed and contribute to the hiring process if requested.
- Flexibility: Adapt work hours as needed to meet department needs; provide support across different areas.
- Compliance and Dress Code: Adhere to department policies and standards; follow service recovery guidelines when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred experience in customer service or medical scheduling.
- Strong customer service and organizational abilities.
- Proficient typing and data entry with a high level of accuracy.
- High accuracy and detail orientation, as even minor mistakes can impact patient care.
- Dress Code: Employees are expected to maintain a clean, well-groomed, and professional appearance in accordance with department-specific uniform and hygiene guidelines. Attire must be conservative, well-fitting, and appropriate for the work environment.

What You Will Do:
As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will:
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by ensuring proper positioning and utilizing immobilization devices.
- Prioritize safety by using radiation protection measures for patients and staff.
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and process images effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and share in responsibilities such as patient scheduling and transportation.
Qualifications:
You should have the following qualifications:
- Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- RT Certification from ARRT.
- Valid South Carolina State License: SCRQSA in Radiology.
