What You Will Do:
As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will:
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by ensuring proper positioning and utilizing immobilization devices.
- Prioritize safety by using radiation protection measures for patients and staff.
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and process images effectively.

Qualifications:
You should have the following qualifications:
- Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- RT Certification from ARRT.
- Valid South Carolina State License: SCRQSA in Radiology.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Provides CT services according to policy and procedure, considering the patient's age and unique characteristics.
- Adheres to CT standards and practices as the ACR and state regulations dictate.
- Provides service promptly and completes the work on a timely basis.
- Cleans, maintains, and monitors equipment appropriately. Troubleshoots equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations.
- Reports equipment problems to supervisor. Calls manufacturer's service department under the direction of the supervisor.
- Provides quality CT procedures for radiologist interpretation.
- Operates all CT equipment used in the production of images.
- Responsible for performing the prescribed procedures requested on patients.
- Must obtain training for IV insertions and prepare IV contrast for injection.
- Must obtain consent for specified procedures. Must sign appropriate consent forms.
- Lifting, transporting, and positioning patients may be required to include individuals with mobility limitations.
- If not previously trained in MRI, a willingness to cross-train and become certified in the modality.
- Reviews given history when order is placed and consults with radiologist when questions or contraindications arise.
- Documents pertinent patient history, reviews previous reports when available, and discusses the procedure with the patient to allay apprehension and elicit understanding.
- Performs CT procedures using proper technical factors and patient positioning to produce images of high diagnostic quality. These images include all necessary information for accurate diagnosis and should be maximally presented for aesthetic quality.
- Differentiates average from abnormal findings and asks for assistance from the radiologist if unsure.
- Correctly log all pertinent information into Centricity and Nuance as applicable.
- Send all studies with completed histories to the correct Merge study list, enabling the radiologist to interpret the exam promptly.
- Perform all tasks in alignment with infection control guidelines.
- Respond to emergencies as required and assist in adverse reactions to medications.
- Restock scanning rooms, notify appropriate individuals when reordering is necessary, empty laundry, and ensure the equipment is cleaned daily.
- Accommodates schedule needs as required/emergency coverage as necessary.
- Participate in orienting new staff members and others as appropriate.
- Actively participate in CQI development.
- Prepare and maintain proper recordkeeping (occurrence reports, malfunction reports).
- Perform quality assurance testing as assigned.
Annual salary range: $36.06 - $49.00
