**About the Role**
The Import/Export Compliance Specialist at CBRE is responsible for managing international trade operations to ensure compliance with global regulations. This role is responsible for import/export documentation, reviews SDS for dangerous goods, and coordinates with internal teams and external partners. **What You'll Do**
Prepare and review export and import documentation to ensure compliance with Export Administration Regulations and other relevant laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Support Transportation Procurement Manager for annual Ocean contract renewals for U.S. and Canada, as well as changes to external PO Management 3 rd party site
+ Provide cost analysis to the organization for international ocean transportation lanes for U.S. and Canada
+ Process payment of some transportation and customs brokerage charges for U.S. and Canada
+ Manage multi-departmental team on export/import and trade agreement issues to mitigate risk, integrate proper processes across business functions and locations, and identify opportunities for participation in global trade programs that would benefit the company

**Compensation:**
The anticipated salary range for this position is $58,000 to $72,000 annually. This range reflects the base pay for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. **Job Description**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transportation & Logistics Operations
+ Lead daily operations for global shipments, including cargo coordination and on-time delivery across multiple modes (express carrier, air, ocean, ground).
+ Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PL partners, monitoring service levels and negotiating on-time performance improvements.
+ Oversee shipment tracking and exception management to ensure visibility and control of logistics flows for U.S.
+ Collaborate with warehouse and regional teams to resolve transit disruptions, optimize routes, and improve logistics KPIs.
2. Import/Export Trade Management
+ Interpret and apply U.S. and international trade regulations (CBP, BIS/EAR, OFAC, regional customs authorities) to ensure full compliance across global operations.
+ Supervise import entry reviews, including HTS/ECCN classification, valuation, and entry type determinations, minimizing delays and penalties.
+ Oversee US export control processes, including AES/ITN filing, export license requirements, deemed export reviews, and coordination with engineering/legal teams.
+ Maintain compliance documentation and support internal/external audits for trade-related activities.
3. Shipment Documentation & Regulatory Alignment
+ Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipping and customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading).
+ Support governmental and regulatory requirements and coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant filings.
+ Validate Incoterms and country-of-origin data to align with both logistics and trade compliance standards.
4. Process Improvement & System Integration
+ Drive initiatives to improve logistics efficiency and compliance accuracy across SAP ERP and Oracle GTM platforms.
+ Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance shipment visibility, data integrity, and overall supply chain performance.
+ Contribute to global standardization of operational workflows and compliance procedures.
5. Governance, Training & Cross-Functional Support
+ Act as a key liaison between HQ, regional teams, and business units to align logistics and compliance strategies.
+ Provide guidance and training on logistics and trade best practices, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
+ Support KPI reporting, risk assessments, and governance initiatives led by US-HQ.
**Qualifications**
REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or a related field.
+ 8-10 years of experience in global logistics operations combined with import/export trade compliance.
+ Strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations (CBP, BIS/EAR, OFAC) and international customs practices.
+ Proven expertise in logistics management, freight optimization, and customs entry processes.
+ Hands-on experience with SAP ERP for shipment execution and compliance documentation; familiarity with Oracle GTM is a plus.
SKILLS:
+ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
+ Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders.
PREFERRED:
+ Experience in high-tech, semiconductor, or manufacturing industries preferred.

**Major Responsibilities:**
- Handle start to finish processing of shipments
- Interact with overseas agents regarding shipment booking, pricing, documentation, and quoting
- Act as first level escalation for customer
- Provide ad-hoc quotes to customers
- Assist in new customer implementations
- Prioritize time sensitive situations
- Collaborate with other operations supervisors to execute shipments and deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure customer and department SOP's and KPIs are adhered to and met
- Track shipments to ensure on time delivery is met.
- Provide relevant current knowledge of routing, packaging, legislation, and other factors that could impact freight movement.
- Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis
- Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements
- Identifying cost savings opportunities for the customer
- Ensuring all business needs are covered including when there are vacations, illness, etc.
- Other projects as assigned by the manager
**Qualifications:**
- 2 years of experience in international logistics or international freight forwarding industry with demonstrated experience moving air/ocean import/export shipments.
- Basic knowledge of domestic and international transportation regulations, policies and procedures required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Experience using Cargo wise TMS preferred but not required
- Must have strong attention to detail and effective communications skills
- Ability to manage shipment profit/loss
- Must be skilled in Problem Solving / Process Improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations
- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required,
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske personnel
