The **Import/Export Compliance Specialist** is responsible for validating and maintaining Import/Export tariff codes, assisting, and supporting, team and Manager to ensure compliance with all US Customs and other Government Agency requirements and regulations relating to import; as well as U.S. export requirements and regulations, trade sanctioned country management and other trade compliance matters related to acquisition project(s). This person will assist our global offices as needed. This person will be working to improve compliance and assist with implementing best business practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Designate customs classifications (HTS, Sch B & ECCN) of all products imported or exported, for US and European Compliance Team
+ Assist Global Transportation team as needed
+ Assist with Compliance Projects as assigned
+ Assist in internal Export/import audits as assigned
+ Extract, proof, analyze and update import/export data components, as necessary
+ Support and assist with CDOP/ECO approval for Trade Compliance department
+ Dedicated assistance in country-of-origin validation
+ Assist Manager and Team with trade sanctioned country due diligence
+ Assist Manager and Team with daily import/export processes
+ Support and assist with global classification of all Integra commodities
+ Ensure compliance with all US government agencies relating to import & export

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted if appropriate.
+ Three or more years of experience in Import/Export Customs Compliance & on hand knowledge of International Trade and Export Regulations.
+ Proficiency with US Harmonized Tariff Codes, Global Harmonized Tariff Codes and Export Control Classifications
+ Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Oracle preferred
+ Experience with Global Trade Management Software is a plus

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Import / Export Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's international trade operations, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, and developing strategies to minimize tariff costs. SUMMARY: Provides logistics and customs support for all areas of the Supply Chain including but not limited to import/export, customs compliance, supply chain planning and distribution of products within the Western hemisphere.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Streamlines the flow of materials (customs brokers, distributors, freight forwarders etc.) to Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) locations while creating, maintaining, and providing proper documentation for Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) compliance.
- Schedules the receipt of international shipments (air, ocean and over the road) with customs brokers (customs clearance), freight companies.
- Determines and inputs all tariff classifications within internal parts database and ad-hoc requests.
- Oversees import/export policies to ensure compliance with US and international government rules and regulations and conducts reviews of U.S. Customs entries for accuracy and compliance with federal law and regulations.
- Monitors and reports on current events or changes to the supply chain, customs laws and regulations.
- Collaborates in conducting internal review of processes, compilation of broker evaluations, review and updates of procedure manuals.
- Provides input and recommends changes to training programs for NOA personnel involved in import/export of Nintendo products.
- Communicates compliance issues to internal departments such as Legal, Finance, and Engineering.
- Communicates with US Customs and other government agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) & Food and Drug Administration with respect to NOA products and development equipment at time of importation.

- Processes international export shipments, creating documents and submitting Electronic Export Information (EEI) to the Automated Export System (AES) for export clearance.
- Reviews and approves all duty and tax payments for shipments into the US (US Customs) and Canada (Revenue Canada via goods and service tax).
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
- Two to three years of experience with Supply Chain processes, including import/export experience (creation of documentation such as commercial invoice, bill of lading, carnet’s and shipper export declarations).
- Strong knowledge of harmonized tariff schedule, general notes, and Customs and Border Protection regulations.

Description Of Duties
- Streamlines the flow of materials (customs brokers, distributors, freight forwarders etc.) to Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) locations while creating, maintaining, and providing proper documentation for Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) compliance.
- Schedules the receipt of international shipments (air, ocean and over the road) with customs brokers (customs clearance), freight companies.
- Determines and inputs all tariff classifications within internal parts database and ad-hoc requests.
- Oversees import/export policies to ensure compliance with US and international government rules and regulations and conducts reviews of U.S. Customs entries for accuracy and compliance with federal law and regulations.
- Monitors and reports on current events or changes to the supply chain, customs laws and regulations.
- Collaborates in conducting internal review of processes, compilation of broker evaluations, review and updates of procedure manuals.
- Provides input and recommends changes to training programs for NOA personnel involved in import/export of Nintendo products.
- Communicates compliance issues to internal departments such as Legal, Finance, and Engineering.
- Communicates with US Customs and other government agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) & Food and Drug Administration with respect to NOA products and development equipment at time of importation.
- Manages issuance of Carnets for trade show and marketing shoots outside of the United States.
- Acts as liaison between NOA and carriers to identify and resolve carrier service failures.
- Review audit of service provider invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Serves as a member of the trade compliance team that supports Customs and Border Protection (CBP) programs such as but not limited to Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) and Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
- Processes international export shipments, creating documents and submitting Electronic Export Information (EEI) to the Automated Export System (AES) for export clearance.
- Reviews and approves all duty and tax payments for shipments into the US (US Customs) and Canada (Revenue Canada via goods and service tax).

The Import Export Agent
I.K. Hofmann is looking for an immediate long-term contract opening for an Import Export Agent in Los Angeles, CA for a Cargo facility.
We are looking for ambitious and detail-oriented individuals to perform fast-paced warehouse cargo work under supervision. They need to be flexible to work different shifts.
Starting Pay: $25.96/hr
The Import Export Agent Responsibilities:
- Processes export and import inquiries as per client requirements and procedures such as processing of discrepancies at acceptance
- Preparation and finalization of outbound flights/trucks
- handling of import documentation (delivery, transfer and abandoned shipment)
- Processes all Air Waybills and HAWBs and ensures accurate data capture as per client’s requirements and procedures
- Handles Special Cargo
- Performs Service Recovery activities (i.e. tracing, warehouse checks, offloads
- Performs Airmail Handling
- Fully supports the quality standards
- Works according to documented CHM and GOM procedures
- Observes and applies the security requirements of the client and local authorities
- Contacts customers, inform them of any/all irregularities
Requirements.
