Qualifications:

Position Overview:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is currently seeking construction workers including form carpenters, rebar placement, concrete placement, and track hoe operators. Our work includes deep foundations, complicated machine foundations, quarry foundations and heavy industrial structural renovations. There is very little need for long days of finishing concrete, we do not do flatwork. However, concrete finishing experience is preferred.

Employees will be based out of Kinsley's North East, MD office but travel in the mid-Atlantic region for projects will be required. Kinsley will provide hotels and transportation for this required work-related travel.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Use and/or assist with instruments for precise layout

**Position Overview**
As a Scheduler, you'll play a key role in planning and scheduling activities on a variety of Infrastructure projects. **District Overview**
Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) is a subsidiary of the Kiewit Corporation. Since our founding in 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, Mass. Electric Construction's philosophy has been to pursue electrical projects that require a higher level of technical and logistical skill. **Location**
This position will be based out of our Waltham MA office.
**Responsibilities**
+ Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement staff, estimators, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
+ Develop and maintain resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
+ Develop schedule logic and realistic activity durations
+ Analyze available manpower and resources, commodity charts, trends, schedule variations, schedule performance and schedule forecast.
+ Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management of all schedule updates.
+ Perform Time Impact Analysis to quantify time entitlement.
+ Apply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
+ Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports.
**Qualifications**
+ 2-3 years of experience in construction scheduling experience with heavy civil, water/waste water or transit projects
+ Proficiency in planning and scheduling using current Primavera P6 software in the Infrastructure industry
+ Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC/Alternative Delivery, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance)
+ Proficiency in various project controls software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, Smart Sheet, Excel and other company-specific software
+ A minimum of 5+ years of construction scheduling experience with heavy civil, water/waste water or transit projects
+ Proficiency in planning and scheduling using current Primavera P6 software in the Infrastructure industry
+ Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC/Alternative Delivery, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance)

**A DAY IN THE LIFE**
+ Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction
+ Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and their sequence, the organization structure, staff selection, and the manpower and construction equipment requirements of the project
+ Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted time schedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit
+ Assist in the activities of the project manager/engineer in their duties including prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment, in obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples
+ Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to permit them to perform their work effectively and to integrate it with project schedules and progress
+ Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes
+ Assist in the preparation of all job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs
+ Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents
+ Cooperate with the owner and his representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress
+ Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis, but in the long-term interest of the company
+ Hold job site meetings with the project manager and the regional manager Report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules
+ Maintain a daily diary to permanently record all significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements and approvals
+ Direct adherence to the company's safety program in all phases and areas of the project
+ Make decisions under tight deadlines
+ Organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
+ Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and adequately address conflict
+ Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding internal and external customer expectations
+ Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
**NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 5-25+ years' of construction experience, with at least 5 of those years as a lead tilt wall Superintendent
+ Computer skills: proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs
+ Possess and maintain a current, valid driver license in your state of residence
+ Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds
