Position Summary:

Under supervision, the Maintenance Technician I is responsible for coordinating daily tasks associated with the assigned Community. Performs a variety of facility and technical tasks that support the needs of residents not limited to on-site maintenance, areas of unit turn, inspection, maintenance, and repair.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position. Ensure that the physical condition of the Community is maintained according to the organization’s operating and safety standards.

• Complete all service requests and repair them correctly and in a timely manner. Obtain the Supervisor’s approval for repairs and replacements that exceed $1,000.00.
• Administer turn-key operation and ensure vacant units are inspected and prepared in a timely manner.
• Maintain a proper inventory of supplies and tools sufficient for providing service and maintaining the property. Purchase supplies as required, using a standard purchase order system and proper bidding procedures.
• Maintain and work with approved vendors as needed within the annual budget.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program that minimizes emergency repairs and service requests.
• Execute knowledge of building equipment, painting and drywall patching, plumbing, along with other minor repairs.
• Evaluate deficiencies such as excessive wear or troubleshoot faulty minor electrical issues.
• Perform all other duties as directed by the Community Manager and assist with the overall team effort, as needed.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 1 year in maintenance or related field.
• Basic knowledge in cleaning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, and HVAC.
• Basic knowledge using hand and power tools.
• Current driver's license

Johnson College is currently seeking a part-time evening Maintenance Technician. The part-time Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the College grounds and facilities.

Qualified candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, must have a valid PA driver's license, be able to lift to 60lbs, and follow written directions.

Hours for this position include part-time hours of 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday thru Friday.
