The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York, is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems in the Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics. The position is open only at the Assistant Professor level and begins in the Fall 2026 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who conduct research at the intersection of data science and cybersecurity. This position is part of an interdisciplinary cluster of faculty members with expertise in data sciences across Baruch's three schools (The Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Weissman School of Arts and Science, and Zicklin School of Business). The department's IS division is highly ranked in research productivity in top journals (24th nationwide in 2024 based on publications at MISQ, ISR, JAIS and JMIS over the last three years).
The largest accredited collegiate school of business in the United States, Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business has earned a national and international reputation for excellence. It offers nationally ranked undergraduate, part-time, and full-time MBA programs, specialized masters, and doctoral programs. The Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics offers undergraduate majors and minors in Information Systems (IS) and in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling (SQM). What youll do:

• Build cutting edge technology using the latest advances in deep learning and machine learning to personalize Pinterest
• Partner closely with teams across Pinterest to experiment and improve ML models for various product surfaces (Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search), while gaining knowledge of how ML works in different areas
• Use data driven methods and leverage the unique properties of our data to improve candidates retrieval
• Work in a high-impact environment with quick experimentation and product launches
• Keep up with industry trends in recommendation systems

What were looking for:

• 4+ years of industry experience applying machine learning methods (e.g., user modeling, personalization, recommender systems, search, ranking, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and graph representation learning)
• End-to-end hands-on experience with building data processing pipelines, large scale machine learning systems, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop/Spark)
• Nice to have:
  • M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning or related areas
  • Publications at top ML conferences
  • Expertise in scalable realtime systems that process stream data
  • Passion for applied ML and the Pinterest product

We are looking for a leader of AGI-and Nova led team in LLM technologies for applications across Alexa, AWS, and other Amazon businesses. In this role, you will innovate in the fastest-moving fields of current AI research, in particular in how to integrate a broad range of structured and unstructured information into AI systems (e.g. with RAG techniques), and get to immediately apply your results in highly visible Amazon products.
If you are deeply familiar with LLMs, natural language processing, and machine learning and have experience managing high-performing research teams, this may be the right opportunity for you. Basic Qualifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286,000/year in our highest geographic market.
