What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking Postdoctoral Appointee candidates with a strong publication record or relevant experience to join Sandia¿s quantum computing theory group and engage in world-leading research in quantum information science. Our team focuses on modeling, characterization, calibration, benchmarking, and simulation of quantum computing hardware, as well as developing and characterizing algorithms and applications for quantum information processors. As part of Sandia¿s broader Quantum Information Science (QIS) program, you will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers across the industry. Postdocs in our group work at the forefront of practical and theoretical quantum computing research, publish widely, and have the freedom to identify compelling research problems, take leadership, and solve them.
On any given day, you may:
+ Work with a team developing new methods to assess and improve the performance of quantum computers and/or quantum algorithms
+ Interact and collaborate with a diverse set of experimentalists and other theorists at Sandia, academic institutions, other national labs, and private companies
+ Work with theorists and experimentalists from the Quantum New Mexico Institute (QNM-I), the University of New Mexico (UNM), or the Quantum Demonstration Facility (QDF)
+ Take ownership of technical projects, publish outstanding new developments in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and present your work at conferences
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite and must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the Albuquerque location when requested. Relocation will be provided for those that qualify.
Qualifications We Require:
+ Possess, or are pursuing, a PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, or a related science or engineering field, PhD must be conferred within five years prior to employment

About Our Team:
The Quantum Computer Science Department (1425) pursues foundational research and development to enable creation of quantum information processors (QIPs) that will provide exponential speed-ups for selected computational problems. We are a team of computer- and computational-physicists whose expertise and pursuits include: computational modeling of physical qubits; theory and design of fault-tolerant QIPs; instruction set architectures for QIPs, evaluation of as-built qubit performance and noise characterization; logical qubit design for real-world noise; performance assessment of many-qubit QIPs; quantum algorithm development; the physics of information; and development of methods and computational simulation capabilities for all of the above pursuits. The Department closely collaborates with researchers in allied areas working on similar pursuits; closely collaborates with experimentalist groups at Sandia working on developing practical qubits in various technologies; has strong working relationships with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) offices and other U.S. government agencies interested in quantum information science (QIS); and collaborates, broadly, with academic and commercial colleagues in the external QIS research community.
Through 1425, you will also have the opportunity to join the The QPL and QuAAC groups, which are multidisciplinary research and development groups within Sandia. The QPL develops and deploys cutting-edge techniques for assessing and improving the performance of quantum computing hardware, serving the needs of the U.S. government, industry, and academia. It also works closely with a wide range of partners in industry and academia to develop new performance assessment tools and apply them to newly developed quantum computing platforms. The QuAAC works on all aspects of quantum algorithms, including the design and analysis of new algorithms, establishing conditions for quantum advantage, and resource estimates for problems in science and engineering. It also collaborates broadly with scientists in academia, industry, and other national labs. Both groups are geographically dispersed but maintain a strong culture of collaboration and are committed to advancing the field of quantum computing. The QPL and QuAAC teams publish their research in scientific journals including Nature, Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Physical Review X, PRX Quantum, and Physical Review Letters.

**What You Will Do**
We are seeking qualified candidates to join the Theoretical Division (T-Division) at Los Alamos National Laboratory. T-Division offers a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration in support of the Laboratory's strategic basic research and national security missions. Within T-Division, the Applied Mathematics and Plasma Physics Group (T-5) conducts cutting-edge research in areas such as novel algorithms, numerical methods, and theoretical modeling. Applications span a wide range of fields, including fusion and high energy density science, space plasma physics, astrophysics, numerical analysis, machine learning, computational imaging, optimization, artificial intelligence, environmental science, and the modeling of critical infrastructure systems such as gas pipelines and electrical grids.
The selected candidate will work closely with mentors and other collaborators to develop novel algorithms for optimal control of quantum systems related to computing, communication, and metrology. The work will involve developing new numerical methods that use spectral approximation, interior point optimization, and tensor decompositions to represent high-dimensional uncertainty in control of entangled qubit or qudit systems. A strong background in optimization and control with emphasis on numerical methods and algorithms is preferred. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of a third-year extension contingent on performance and available funding.

This is a prestigious postdoctoral research and academic fellowship with funding from Sandia's Laboratory Directed Research and Development program. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR MANAGEMENT SCIENCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY STILLWATER CAMPUS The Management Science and Information Systems (MSIS) Department in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position slated to begin in Fall 2026. The position is on the Stillwater campus. Departmental faculty, such as this position, are in both Stillwater and Tulsa and can teach classes in both locations (as well as on-line as appropriate). OSUs MSIS Department has a unique blend of faculty, students and staff, delivering innovative academic programs at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral level, producing impactful and high-quality research, and providing outstanding service to the profession, the university, the college and the community. The Department has a long tradition of research and instructional program excellence in MIS, Cybersecurity, and Data Science. The Department also partners with OSUs Center for Health Sciences and the Center of Health Systems Innovation in delivering graduate programs and certificates, and conducting applied research, in health informatics and health care analytics. The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York, is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems in the Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics. The position is open only at the Assistant Professor level and begins in the Fall 2026 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who conduct research at the intersection of data science and cybersecurity. This position is part of an interdisciplinary cluster of faculty members with expertise in data sciences across Baruch's three schools (The Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Weissman School of Arts and Science, and Zicklin School of Business). The department's IS division is highly ranked in research productivity in top journals (24th nationwide in 2024 based on publications at MISQ, ISR, JAIS and JMIS over the last three years).
The largest accredited collegiate school of business in the United States, Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business has earned a national and international reputation for excellence. It offers nationally ranked undergraduate, part-time, and full-time MBA programs, specialized masters, and doctoral programs. The Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics offers undergraduate majors and minors in Information Systems (IS) and in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling (SQM). It also offers four specialized MS degrees in IS, Business Analytics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods & Modeling, along with a PhD program in IS. It also provides courses for our MBA program.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Applicants must either have or expect completion of Ph.D. in Information Systems or related fields. They should have a proven record or the potential for high-quality scholarly research leading to publications in premier peer-reviewed journals in Information Systems. They must also be able to teach various courses in the department, including, but not limited to, data science, cybersecurity, information assurance, ethical hacking, systems analysis and design, and programming, among others. Preference will be given to applicants who conduct research at the intersection of data science and cybersecurity.
**COMPENSATION**
$147,300- $162,300; commensurate with qualifications and experience
