The successful candidate will bewell versed in engineering of linear infrastructure design projects or planning project such as water, wastewater, and/or stormwater modeling and planning, CIP planning, and master planning.

**Responsibilities**
+ Develops significant relationships with new and existing clients and has responsibility for client maintenance
+ Plans, schedules, and conducts engineering work on projects, for multiple clients, of medium to large sizes of moderately complex nature
+ Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies
+ Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
+ Determines program objectives and requirements and organize programs and projects
+ Involved in exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches
+ Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
+ Directs several subordinate supervisors or team leaders
+ Responsible for training and mentoring internal staff
+ Plans and develops projects concerned with unique or controversial problems that have an important effect on major organization programs
+ Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering
+ Minimum of 8 years of professional experience (exclusive of any advanced degree)
+ Registration as a Professional Engineer
+ Experience delivering water and wastewater treatment, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution, pipeline rehabilitation, and/or pump station projects
+ Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
+ Ability to evaluate progress of staff and results obtained, and recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives
+ Ability to communicate effectively with multiple clients and project teams
**Preferred Qualifications**

**Pay Range**
An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, environmental scientists, and other disciplines.
  • Review and approve engineering designs and calculations.
  • Act as a client liaison, presenting project proposals and progress updates.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and proposal preparation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or the ability to obtain it quickly.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, HEC-RAS, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, structural analysis, and geotechnical principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Experience with public works projects and understanding of permitting processes is a plus.
