Infusion Technician - Laminator

**Responsibilities:**
+ Installation of all flow media, vacuum, feed lines, and bagging material
+ Perform startup procedures in preparation for lamination which involves, identify various molds that are to be infused, locate materials and kits.
+ Work with various resins, fiberglass materials, and structural adhesives.
+ Work with the vacuum infusion process
+ Troubleshoot errors in the infusion process and uncover any possible leaks.
+ Run and maintain the infusion pump.
+ Laminate layers of fiberglass on molds by hand, roller, and brush working material into shape, removing air and smoothing surfaces.
+ Apply bonding and structural stiffening materials according to blueprints and work instructions.
+ Debag and prepare for secondary bonding.
+ Follow housekeeping and safety procedures
Qualifications
+ Should be able to use a variety of hand tools, razor knives, scissors, power tools, and overhead hoists.
+ Should be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
+ Should be able to work a 10-hour shift standing, bending, and lifting.
+ Should be able to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
+ Have the flexibility to work overtime both planned and unplanned to meet company goals

+ The standard work schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
+ Occasional overtime may be required based on scheduling and business needs, including non-schedule workdays or irregular hours.
+ An hourly premium shift differential is available for employees working night shift and weekends

Job Summary:

The Infusion Financial Specialist assists patients with all financial concerns for patients, insurers, referring/attending physicians, care coordinators, pharmacy staff, and other stakeholders related to medications administered in the clinic/infusion center. They process all referrals, identify payer sources, verify benefit information, complete in-depth payor medical necessity review, and acquire initial authorization as needed to begin patient service or to determine denial of patient service. They will follow up on pending unresolved coverage issues and provider supporting documentation to assist with the appeal for claim denials. The position serves as an integral part of the patient care team while acting as a liaison between patients, care givers and support staff to deliver outstanding service and optimize patient flow.

Here's what you'll do when you join us:

  • Verify insurance coverage, determine level of benefits, complete medical necessity review, obtain payer approvals for high-cost drug therapies prior to treatment, and solve problems with insurers.
  • Verify information on Physician's orders and reach out to provider and/or patient if there are discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with drug companies to qualify patients for drug assistance programs.
  • Provide financial support to patients and answer related questions to ensure the patient's understanding of their benefits.
  • Coordinate and assist patients with the Charity Care program and with setting up affordable payment plans.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to identify patients for home and outpatient infusion therapy.
  • Maintain current knowledge of payer requirements and general admitting practices.
  • Communicate with patients and Grand Itasca staff to gather all needed information to complete daily duties.
  • Complete requirements for the provision of initial care and required insurance referrals for specialty care.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

  1. Pharmacy Technician certification OR three years' recent Pharmacy Technician experience OR three of more years' clinical experience in an Oncology/Infusion setting.
  2. Two years of medical and/or pharmacy authorization experience preferred.
  3. Ability to interpret multiple comprehensive medical policies simultaneously to establish medical necessity of high-cost infusion medications with government and commercial payers.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of third-party payers, policies and regulations.

Description

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Infusion Intake Specialist I.

Position Purpose

Review and process infusion services and physician orders in a timely and accurate manner to obtain payment for infusion services.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Review physician order for Infusion.
  • Verify patient benefits independently and with appropriate manufacturer hub programs.
  • Determine whether practice can buy & bill or if medication needs to be obtained through a Specialty Pharmacy.
  • Assist patient with foundation copay programs, if eligible for reimbursement program.
  • Obtain foundation copay card information once assistance approved.
  • Obtain prior-authorization for infusion services from patients insurance company by calling insurance carrier and/or submitting required forms and medical records via fax or online portal.
  • If Specialty Pharmacy utilized, submit proper paperwork and patient clinical information.
  • Assist in claims payment follow-up involving denials related to authorization or insurance coverage.
  • Communicate necessary patient financial information with appropriate office and billing personnel in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate with patient regarding deductibles, copays, co-insurance, and financial assistance coverage.
  • Alert supervisor of any roadblocks to timely verification, prior authorizations and payment of infusion claims.
  • Provide quality service to patients.
  • Abide by all federal, state, and payer requirements and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years of infusion intake experience required. Prior intake experience related to infusion needed.

Requirements for Level I Status:

  • Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision.
  • Excess of 4 years experience if meeting only the basic requirements of the job with need for additional supervision.

Performance Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office experience, particularly in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare plans.
  • Ability to read and understand medical benefits.
  • Ability to read and understand payer medical policies.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Medical terminology (CPT, ICD 10) knowledge.
  • Self-motivated with initiative.
  • Strong sense of ethics.
