About the role: We are seeking an injection molding technician to join our dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of injection molding machines with automation systems to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. The technician will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while adhering to industry standards and company policies. This role will initially be located in South Boston and will transition to our Andover Manufacturing Center located ~25 miles north of Boston within the next five years. We expect all employees hired to make the transition to Andover as roles migrate to the new site.

Job Qualifications

**Responsibilities:**
+ Manufactures close tolerance plastic parts by setting up and operating an injection molding machine, while maintaining high safety standards, equipment, and all quality documentation.-
+ Set-Up and Run New Production Jobs when Scheduled.

+ Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and optical comparator.
+ Informs supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs.
+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company EH&S policies and procedures.
+ Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
+ Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

The selected candidates will be responsible for keeping the manufacturing process running smoothly by utilizing process control standards and maintaining injection molding machinery, automation, and support equipment. Job Summary:
Works with production team member to ensure process methods are met and obtained. Provide technical support to the manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties and Requirements of the Job:
Including the following, other duties may be assigned by Supervisor or Management:
• Accurately maintain and complete the Process Monitor sheet.
• Place job book at the workstation
• Submit 1st piece to the Quality lab
• Inform Production assistant when start up is done and press is ready to run production
• Pull last shots upon shutdown.
• Change date/day wheels.
• Evaluate equipment for proper operation, input work orders if maintenance is needed.
• Verify quality standard using approved gages and measuring devices.
• Seek Continuous Improvement methods to improve efficiency, quality and reduction of scrap. Participate in one cost save initiative idea annually.
• Interact with Maintenance, Quality Control, Engineering and Tool Room with Problem Solving issues to ensure production is not disrupted.
• Ensure proper working order and cleanliness of tools.
• Documents Mold Setter Checklist MTS-F-003.
• Performs Mold changeovers per operating instructions.
• Ability to start up, shut down, & operate all company robots
• Basic Programming knowledge of all robots utilized in the facility
• Adhere to departmental budgetary allocations.
• Ensure proper start up and shut downs of the molding presses.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Must adhere to all safety and environmental policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Must be able to interact with coworkers and customers in a cooperative, respectful and professional manner.
• Must have the ability to solve technical math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Metric/English conversions).
• The ability to relay information in a logical manner.
• Possess basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Participant and/or member of team building, problem solving, or continuous improvement teams.
• Must possess safe work habits, a mature attitude and good attendance record and the ability to follow instructions in a timely manner.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in processing of Injection Molding, including technical experience.
• Complete Paulson Training in injection molding basics, and machine operation courses.
• How to troubleshoot material feed system.
• Knowledge of different types of resins (nylons, acetyl, PP, etc.)

In this hands-on, entry-level role, you will be trained in the setup, installation, and removal of molds and dies used in plastic injection molding machines. This is an excellent opportunity to gain industry-specific technical skills and grow within a high-demand trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced technicians in the installation and removal of molds and dies on injection molding machines.
- Learn to safely operate hoists, hand tools, and power tools used in mold changes.
- Understand mold clamping, alignment, and water/electrical connections.
- Monitor basic machine operation during setup and report any irregularities.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Support preventive maintenance of molds and tools under supervision.
- Document setup processes and assist in tracking mold performance data.
Training Provided In:
- Mold and die changeover procedures
- Injection molding machine operation basics
- Safety procedures (lockout/tagout, lifting, PPE)
- Tool and die terminology and identification
- Quality control principles related to molding
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Mechanical aptitude and a desire to work in a hands-on, industrial environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to learn and follow detailed procedures
- Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented
- Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus, but not required
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time position
