The Clinical Innovation team is an ambitious team of Scientists, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Developers with a unique blend of business, scientific, and technical expertise. As the program continues to grow, we're seeking a strong lead to mature our approach to consider, measure and interpret all elements that contribute to a personalized outcome.
As a Director in Clinical Innovation, you will play a pivotal role in building the future of evidence generation designed to modernize the approach to evidence. The position requires the ability to identify and build robust approaches to evidence generation and quickly distill results into actionable next steps to progress toward the strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
+ With enterprise level understanding, translate vision into strategy with clear tactical actions and defined milestones
+ Identify the highest impact ideas and plans, and collaborate cross team to focus efforts to work efficiently.
+ Work hand in hand with clinical sciences, data sciences and engineering teams to apply the power of AI toward enhanced insights and to intentionally fill data gaps using the innovative methods/tools/scales.
+ Identify and cultivate strong functional and crossfunctional (Therapeutic Areas, Regulatory, Commercial, Biostatistics etc) relationships to drive organizational synergies and develop meaningful solutions that span translation to late development studies.
+ Evaluate existing capabilities and identify areas for improvement and opportunities for developing new capabilities; ensure the new capabilities development plan will align with high-level strategy
+ Stay ahead of emerging science, technologies and trends to identify areas of focus and where we may drive efficiencies by sourcing capabilities externally.

Qualifications
+ MD or PhD in Biological Sciences.
+ 4+ years of experience in managing enterprise level crossfunctional initiatives; pharmaceutical and management consulting experience preferred.
+ Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed organization, either as an external consultant or an internal cross-functional lead.
+ Highly collaborative, genuinely enjoys working hand-in-hand in team environment to develop solutions that advance AbbVie's overall mission.
