The Product Innovation Director is responsible for bringing Cepheid's product vision to life for new product development by translating customer needs into prioritized innovation and technology roadmaps.

This position is part of Global Product Management and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Develop and present business cases for new products under development; define market requirements and write product definitions.

Arclin is hiring a strategic and results-oriented Director, Strategic Project Management to join our Engineered Building Solutions (EBS)/Surfaces group, reporting to the Senior Director of Business Growth & Innovation. Arclin is a leading materials science provider of chemistry-based polymer technologies and engineered products, serving a wide range of industries including building products, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, agriculture, and other natural resource markets.In this role, you will lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution-applying strong technical acumen, business insight, and structured project leadership. ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver complex, cross-functional projects by defining scope, milestones, and success metrics.Align and coordinate multiple stakeholders, ensuring progress through structured planning and effective communication.Identify critical path activities and focus team efforts on high-impact questions and decisions.Proactively manage risks and resources to maintain momentum and ensure timely delivery.Translate complex technical and market insights into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences.Facilitate alignment and drive decision-making through storytelling, visual tools, and executive summaries.Influence across functions and positions without authority by building trust, engaging stakeholders, and fostering shared purpose.Apply stage-gate methodologies to streamline execution and reduce waste.Develop business cases and models in coordination with relevant functions to support strategic decisions, including cost/value analysis and market sizing.Synthesize technical and market data into insights that guide strategy and innovation efforts.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a technical or business field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science) or Business; advanced degree (MBA) preferred.7+ years of experience in innovation, product development, or strategic planning-ideally within chemicals, materials, or related industries.5 years of experience in a Project Management role with a proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives from concept to commercialization.Strong analytical skills, market sizing, and value-in-use analysis.Comfortable navigating ambiguity with a focus on progress and continuous learning.Exceptional communication skills; able to influence and align diverse teams without formal authority.Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Planner,); familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus.Strategic thinker with a bias for execution, resilience, and a passion for innovation-driven impact. The Role

As a Product Manager for NCS, your ideas and passion will shape the future of our offerings and the verticals we serve. From ideation to execution, youll guide products through their entire lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, aligning with customer needs, and keeping business objectives in sharp focus.

Youll also support and maintain our existing product portfolioensuring timely updates, effective training, and product visibility across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Portfolio Supervision: Maintain accurate documentation and visibility for the entire solution suite. Lead internal product updates, training, and communications. Understands the need, the solution remedies or how it assists the End User.
  • New Product Ideation & Strategy: Support the development of innovative product ideas grounded in market trends, customer feedback, and organizational goals for the enterprise.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with leadership, operations, sales, and development teams to define product strategies, ensure alignment, and foster team buy-in.
  • New Product Management: Collaborate with Project Manager to maintain roadmaps, timelines, ideation documents, and go-to-market strategies. Cross collaborate with cross functional teams in the creation of marketing, training, and support materials.
  • Customer Insights: Gather, analyze, and apply customer feedback, usage data, and market research to guide product decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Vendor & Partner Relations: Is a liaison to direct solution or data vendors or platform providers to ensure technical alignment, documentation accuracy, and technical integration as required.
  • Executive Reporting: Deliver clear, actionable insights and updates on product performance, roadmaps, and growth opportunities to senior leadership.

What Were Looking For

  • Proven experience managing product lifecyclesideally in financial services, fintech, mortgage, lending, or a regulated industry.
  • Process Efficiency: Plan, perform, and implement process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma), developing metrics for process measurement and identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to bridge business, technical, and customer perspectives.
  • Excellent communicationable to simplify complex topics for various audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, Canva, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Understanding of APIs, data flows, CRM or loan origination platforms, and analytics tools is a plus.
  • A customer-first mindset with a passion for solving real problems and improving user experiences.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and translate insights into action.
  • Creative thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and iteration.

The Director, Product Management, Innovation is responsible for bringing Cepheid's product vision to life for new product development by translating customer needs into prioritized innovation and technology roadmaps .
This position is part of Global Product Management and will be located in S unnyvale , CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Develop and present business cases for new products under d evelopment; define market requirements and write product definitions.
+ Gather and represent the voice of customer and voice of business on NPD core teams and lead market and customer discussions at monthly Product Planning Group (PPG) meetings to assess and manage risk and tradeoffs.
+ Establish leadership in cross functional NPD core teams and ensure adherence to market and product requirements from pre-concept tollgate and through product development cycle.
+ Build strong cross functional relationships with core team stakeholders such as Project Management, Portfolio Management, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical Affairs.
The essential requirements of the job include :
+ Bachelor's degree (business or life sciences) with 12+ years of experience in a combination of Sales, Marketing and / or Operations in the medical products or diagnostic industries OR Master's/Doctoral degree with 8+ years of this type of experience
+ Demonstrated experience of translating clinical value into marketing messages across lab, clinical/healthcare provider, health system and patient segments
+ Excellent presentation skills; able to multi-task across broad number of products and disease states
+ Role requires travel of up to 25 % and may include some international travel
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Knowledge of the Infectious Disease testing marketplace highly desired.
+ Demonstrated experience in Product Management in the Medical Device and Diagnostics industry highly desired
