Lead and modernize the Educational Service Center's network and cloud infrastructure with a forward-looking approach that positions the ESC as a regional leader and model for other districts. 1. This position will support DelDOT's video conferencing applications and infrastructure capabilities. The consultant will need experience and knowledge with Audio Visual systems, including web platforms. DelDOT has various conference resources to support small meetings, up to department wide events. In this role the consultant will be responsible for producing various Webinars and TEAMs meeting as required. The consultant will create the general webinar invite, define identified panelists, coordinate presentations, and initiate session recordings.
Additionally, the consultant will be responsible for working closely with suppliers and DTI personnel to install and configure new conference systems to ensure a seamless connection to the MS-TEAMS, O365 and other (Webex) technology platforms. When a system malfunctions, the incumbent will act to analyze and diagnose the components and develop recommendations for the corrective steps.
The production of, DelDOT specific, documentation to guide users through the system, as well as training materials and videos to enhance the overall experience, fall into this position's realm.
2. This position will be responsible for supporting various aspects of DelDOT's security application, hardware and software, environments. Included in this task is the application and infrastructure that supports DelDOT's facility access and surveillance systems, digital signage, and visitor management functions. This may involve the coordinating and engaging of various external suppliers (vendors and/or DTI) for service, ongoing support and/or restoration.
Another aspect of this position is generating and submitting technical communication and configuration requirements needed for the various applications and creating requests for the service providers to allow new user access and the modification of existing users' permissions, as approved by the DelDOT management team. This also encompasses documenting the network addresses that have been assigned and working with DTI to re-segment any identified network capacity challenges to allow for future expansion.
3. This position will be responsible for leading the efforts, with vendors and DTI resources, to extend the State's data network into new or renovated DelDOT structures by working closely with DTI staff during the buildout phase of a project. This task includes determining cable pathways and distances, determining the best transmission methods - fiber, Cat6, WiFi, cellular, or leased circuit - to deploy, coordinating workloads and schedules with other DelDOT sections, and providing status updates to management throughout the process.
Equally, this position will ensure all the required "parts and pieces" needed to expand the data network are quoted and PO requests submitted. The incumbent will coordinate and oversee the delivery of network equipment and synchronize with DTI and other suppliers to schedule its configuration and installation.
Additionally, the consultant will support activities that are compliant with DelDOT and *** technology standards by coordinating, gathering and submitting information needed for ARB network diagrams and Firewall rules.
This position will interface with management teams to understand and resolve applications, network connection and other technology issues.
4. In this role the position will share the responsibility for producing and maintaining the technical and user system documentation. This is a critical function for the team and DelDOT, in order to maintain a 'state of good repair' for the assets supported.
