DESCRIPTION OF POSITION and KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide quality case management and therapeutic services to patients and their families, to serve as a member of interdisciplinary team supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy, and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their families. Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:

· Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling psychology, mental health or a related field.

· Must be licensed by or registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)/Associate Social Worker (ASW) and/or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)/Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT).

· Preferred one (1) year direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting. Experience in patient assessment, risk and safety assessments, treatment planning, community resources, group and family therapy, family systems and communication, and coordination with external review organizations preferred. Experience with severely mentally ill and discharge planning preferred. Familiarity with continuum of care and clinical terminology.

Qualifications

• In order to be considered, candidates must have a Master's degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field from an accredited university or college (a related Human Services field is defined as one in which 30 hours of course work includes the study of human behavior and development) and Valid Florida State Registered Intern (IMH, ISW or IMT) required within 90 days.
• Previous mental health experience with adult population preferred.

+ Provides supportive counseling, grief counseling, crisis intervention and other appropriate therapeutic services to assist patients and families in coping with presenting symptoms and problems such as, for example, coping with illness, accepting medical recommendations, and loss of function. Provides education to patients and families around issues related to adaptation to the patient's diagnosis, illness, treatment and/or life situation.
**Education Qualifications**
+ Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university; OR be within forty-five (45) days of completion of the requirements for graduation with an MSW from an accredited college or university. Candidates who meet this qualification and furnish a letter from the Dean of the School Work where they are a student in good standing attesting to this may receive a conditional offer of employment. Such new hires must provide proof of possession of an MSW degree from an accredited college or university within forty-five (45) days of their date of hire, as a condition of continued employment.

**A Brief Overview**
