Insight Global is looking to hire a Technician in a 6-month Contract-to-Hire role for a client of ours in Ames, IA. This candidate will be working with internet. The hiring manager is looking for someone who can be trusted to get work done in a timely and professional manner. Candidates will be expected to follow direction from the Project Manager, and also a PM Tool called Base Camp that lays out project details and to-dos.
$18/hr to $25/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead a team of installers to validate they perform the following tasks:

Ability to perform all plumbing repairs and replacements to code.

Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.

Cover pipes with earth or other materials.

Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.

Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems.

Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.

Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools.

Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating

layouts with supervisors.

Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.

Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.

Operate mechanized equipment, such as pickup trucks, rollers, tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, or backhoes.

Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.

Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.

$5 - 35 an hour

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience preferred but not required in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting diverse plumbing service issues.

Can run equipment such as an excavator.

Must be able to use a computer tablet, smart phone and read a map or follow GPS.

Requirements:

A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

A valid driver's license, and approved to drive by Company's insurance carrier.

Looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician. Our Infrastructure team is responsible for day to day installation of servers and network equipment structured cabling project work and capacity management. This technician will also be involved with installation of structured cabling management of infrastructure inventory levels physical installation of network and server racks and/or devices. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will launch cutting edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments. You will quickly and accurately assess a wide range of infrastructure issues which requires a good understanding of computers servers switches and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. In addition you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative judgment and diplomacy. Key job responsibilities Partner with cable vendors to install inspect and troubleshoot cabling Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure Install test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling including patch panels and patch cords Ensure that the Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practices Report current status via ticketing system status reports email and slack Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness Work with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positions Manage check and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site daily Carry cell phone for communication information and emergencies Up to 50 travel within geographical work area may be required some travel outside traditional work area may be requested All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations: Walk job sites in uneven terrain Some regional travel may be required Work safely at heights and from ladders Ability to work on your feet conducting site walks and installation tasks for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.
