The City of Fairfield Parks and Recreation is seeking a Fitness Instructor. This is a part-time, contract position to lead fitness classes at the Community Arts Center. We are specifically looking for instructors that can teach on Saturday mornings, but this could also extend to weekdays.

Examples of duties include designing and conducting fun, safe, and effective fitness classes. Work with class participants of different abilities. Have a positive, motivating attitude and communication style.

Typical qualifications include certification related to the class being taught and CPR certification.

Job Summary: Seeking experienced instructors to teach Pilates, ZUMBA, HIIT, Boot Camp, Tabata, and/or other forms of group exercise classes and Personal Trainers. Pay: $20 per class Schedule: Must be available to work between the hours of 8:15 a.m.- 12:45 p.m., and/or 5:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Weekly hours are based on schedule availability and experience in different facets of exercise. Requirements: Applicants must have a strong understanding of exercise safety, proper alignment, and muscular and cardiovascular training. Must have basic knowledge of exercise anatomy and physiology. Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certified preferred. National certification in exercise instruction is also preferred. Starting hourly rate based on experience and certifications. Schedule: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00.

• Provide fifteen (15) one hour aerobic training classes per week to the 2d Force Support Squadron at BAFB.
• Twelve (12) of the fifteen (15) classes will consist of high/low impact, Step class, Circuit training, Zumba, Boot Camp, Spin/Cycle, Pilates, with a minimum of 4 Yoga and 4 Spin/Cycle classes per week.
• Three (3) of the fifteen (15) classes will specifically focus on strength and cardio improvement.

• Current credentials from a recognized aerobic certifying association.
• Current CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
• Neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.

Position:

Our Flexologists will provide one-on-one assisted stretches as well as lead guided group stretching classes for our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one assisted stretch sessions as well as group stretch classes for up to 6 clients
• Encourage and motivate clients throughout stretch sessions
• Build StretchLab membership and retain current clientele through sales and outreach to leads
• Managing client care by delivering a best-in-class stretching experience, updating client notes consistently, and booking client's weekly recurring appointments
• Ensure the safety of clients in regards to proper stretch techniques and enforce StretchLab policies and safety rules
• Attend staff meetings and required educational presentations

• Love of boutique fitness environment is a must - passion for stretching, mobility, and flexibility
• Previous experience as a Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, Physical Therapist, or Pilates or Yoga Instructor
• Experience working in a fitness/health environment where you providing hands-on training with a client
• Fitness certification required
