**Foreign Language Instructor**
Leidos is seeking a skilled **Foreign Language Instructor** to support a high-priority customer mission. These are full-time in-person positions requiring both teaching and language assessment responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be passionate about language instruction, experienced in adult education, and capable of adapting materials to meet customized learning needs.
**_Required languages:_** **_Chinese,_** **_and_** **_Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian langu_** **_ages._**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide **3-5 hours of language instruction** per day across proficiency **levels ILR 0-3.**
+ Develop tailored instructional materials and training aids to meet student-specific learning objectives.
+ Undergo sponsor-provided training to become a **certified language tester** .
+ Conduct **3-4 language proficiency assessments per week** following certification.
+ Teach language through cultural immersion, leveraging a strong understanding of **language culture and current events** .
+ Collaborate with senior instructors to maintain **instructional standards and curriculum quality.**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ **Bachelor's degree** (from a U.S. institution or from the country where the target language is spoken). Additional years of experience may be **substituted in lieu of a degree** .
+ A minimum of:
+ Minimum **3+ years** of direct adult teaching experience; **or**
+ **8-12** years of relevant experience; **or**
+ A master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in developing **instructional materials** customized for adult learners.
+ Familiarity with ILR Scale and current events and **cultural developments in the foreign language** .
**Language Testing Requirements:**
+ Must pass a Leidos-administered or approved commercial translation test (3 hours).
+ Minimum passing test scores:
+ **Translation Test:** 4 or higher.
+ **Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI):** 4/4/4 (Speaking/Listening/Reading).
**Security Clearance:**
+ **No clearance required to apply** .
+ **Able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph** (must be fully adjudicated before work begins). Leidos will **sponsor candidates** after passing all the required language tests.
+ Clearance must be **fully adjudicated** before starting. Linguists can only begin work on contract with a fully adjudicated security clearance.

The International Teaching and Global Leadership (ITGL) master's program within the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Education is accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors to teach face-to-face, graduate level courses on the JHU Homewood campus in Baltimore. ITGL is 3-4 semester, in-person Master of Science in Education program designed to prepare international educators to become innovative education leaders with the knowledge and skills to transform schools, systems, and other fast-changing learning environments around the world.
We are seeking candidates in multiple subject areas: Entrepreneurship in Education; AI & Education; Global and International Education; Global Education Policy; Creativity & Education; Mind, Brain, & Teaching, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language); Early Childhood Education.
Successful candidates will be hired on a per course-basis during Summer 2025, Fall 2025, or Spring 2026.
Responsibilities:
+ Course Delivery: Design and deliver lectures, presentations, and practical demonstrations to convey course material effectively. Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
+ Classroom Management: Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, discussion, and critical thinking.
+ Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students inside and outside of the classroom. Address individual student concerns and offer academic assistance as needed.
+ Grading and Evaluation: Assess and grade student assignments, exams, and projects promptly and fairly. Provide constructive feedback to aid students' learning and development.
+ Adherence to Policies: Comply with institutional policies, academic regulations, and ethical standards in all aspects of teaching and interactions with students.
+ Educational Background: A minimum of a master's degree in the relevant or associated field is typically required. Doctoral degree preferred.
+ Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in the subject area of instruction. Prior teaching experience is required.
+ Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey complex concepts and engage students in the learning and advising process.

Position Summary
The Department of Biology seeks applications from individuals who are interested in temporary teaching assignments for undergraduate and graduate courses. The open positions will be non-tenure track assignments. The major commitment will be teaching undergraduate or graduate courses. In general, the instructor is expected to interact with other members of the department including faculty, staff and students, enriching and enhancing student education offered by the Department of Biology at Colorado State University. The Department of Psychology is in CSU's College of Natural Sciences along with seven other departments: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics. The Department serves approximately 1400 undergraduate majors and 100 graduate students, with approximately 30 full-time faculty members distributed across five doctoral programs: (1) Applied Social and Health Psychology, (2) Cognitive Neuroscience, (3) Cognitive Psychology, (4) Counseling Psychology, and (5) Industrial/Organizational Psychology. The Department also offers two Master's degrees: (1) Master's in Addiction Counseling and (2) Master's in Applied Industrial/Organizational Psychology, which is an online degree. The Department houses several service centers including the Psychological Services Center, supporting graduate training objectives in counseling psychology while serving the CSU population's mental health needs; the Center for Meaning and Purpose, which focuses on acquiring, creating, and disseminating knowledge about enabling meaning, well-being, and positive health; and the Aging Clinic of the Rockies, which focuses on research, clinical services, and outreach for older adults in the community.
The Department proudly boasts the Tri-Ethnic Center for Prevention Research that concentrates on social problems that affect rural areas. Additionally, the department has an externally funded occupational health psychology training program, funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health ( NIOSH ) Education and Research Center which provides financial resources to support graduate student education, research, and professional development.
The Department is primarily housed in the Behavioral Sciences Building, a building that was completed in 2010 and was designed to meet LEED Gold Certification standards for environmental quality, innovative design, sustainability, and efficiency. The Behavioral Sciences Building includes office space for all full-time faculty and graduate students, meeting and seminar rooms, state-of-the-art classrooms, numerous lounge and study areas, and a wi-fi café. Also included are faculty research laboratories in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and sensation and perception that have been designed to specification. Swim Instructor Job Description
Description: SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for teaching the SafeSplash Swim School teaching curriculum in a fun and positive manner. Lifeguards are responsible for safety in and around the water.

We have two locations in Natomas and Land Park, Sacramento.

SafeSplash swim school operates year-round at our indoor pools. If you like to be in the water, enjoy teaching life skills, and like being around kids, then definitely apply!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
  • Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts.
  • Provide Deck Supervisor with class information (ribbons, student changes, etc) to keep proper class organization.
  • Provide customers with monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash N Tell week.
Hours: 10-40 hours per week
Compensation: $19-21 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Availability to teach a minimum of 5 classes per week (classes are offered early mornings, midday, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Diligent planning and preparation before each class, including diligent study of choreography and class planning prior to each class, as well as learning full choreography changes on a quarterly basis
  • Assist with keeping the study tidy
  • Ability to lift hand weights, demonstrate full body pushups, and maintain high-energy for 55-minute class is required
  • All instructors are required to complete a 4-day training at one of our corporate training centers, as well as significant 'at home' study and preparation for certification before being eligible to teach classes. Minimum one-year commitment to teaching required before attending 4-day training.

The Department of Statistics at Colorado State University currently comprises 21 faculty and over 50 graduate students, and has a network of faculty affiliates at nearby research agencies (National Center for Atmospheric Research, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others). Our faculty members have a wide range of expertise and are involved in various interdisciplinary graduate training and research activities.
