**Job Description**
**Albemarle Corporation** is hiring for an Instrumentation Tech. This position requires being on site 5 days/week at our New Johnsonville plant.
**What You Will Do**
+ Repair, calibrate and install in good working condition primary measuring elements, transmitters, controllers and final control elements for measurement and control of flow, temperature, pressure, and weight. Skills required including troubleshooting electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic devices as well as basic computer programming and repair.
+ Find and correct problems in electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrument systems using instruction manuals. Be proficient in using test equipment to isolate these problems. Operate mobile equipment and pick-up trucks in the normal performance of the job. Must be able to read, draw, work from and explain P&IDs, blueprints, sketches, and drawings. Connect and disconnect instrument systems for repairs.
+ Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, manlifts, and pick-up trucks in the performance of the job. Must be able to use hand and power tools and electrical test equipment. Repair control valves and other final control elements. Must understand all types of electrical systems, i.e. alternating and direct current systems.
+ Must be able to read and interpret PLC ladder logic and HMI display graphics. Ability to create/modify logic and HMI graphics.
+ Will be required to work some overtime.
+ Must be able to work in union with same or other craftsmen to accomplish job objectives.
+ Manage hazardous waste, which may include proper collection, packaging, labeling, segregation, storage, use of waste manifest and shipping; according to company procedures and instruction.
+ Work through proper channels to ensure MOC process is followed
+ Understanding of SIS programming and ability to comprehend/add/modify as needed
+ Provide project support as new equipment and modifications are made to equipment
+ Work with controls engineers to improve manufacturing equipment and system performance
+ Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, knowledge of electronics, and technical manuals
**What You Bring**
**Required:**
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent
+ Must have at least 4 years experience in the Instrumentation and Controls field.
+ Possess good communication skills for interaction with all chemical plant employees. Ability to receive verbal and written direction including plant safety rules, policies and procedures and implement without direct supervision.
+ Physical requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent walking, bending, stooping, balancing, ascending, and descending ladders, operating various mobile equipment, pulling, crouching, twisting and reaching. Must have near and far vision with clarity at 20 feet of less, hear well enough to perceive the nature of sounds and have good depth perception as well as be able to distinguish colors. Requires handling tools and equipment necessary to perform above listed tasks.
+ Familiarity with RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, and Factory talk
+ Technical Programming certification
Environmental Conditions: Exposure to chemical plant manufacturing facilities. Must work both outside and inside and often in inclement weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise and vibration. Must be able to distinguish emergency and other alarms and respond according to prescribe procedures.

What Will You Be Doing?As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the electrical and instrumentation equipment at our production facility. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting, testing, adjusting, calibrating, and repairing electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
- Monitoring meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
- Maintaining a functional knowledge of operations software and hardware.
- Conducting preventative maintenance inspections of all control instrumentation.
- Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures.
- Completing work order cycles and entering equipment history.
- Diagnosing existing or potential issues with plant electrical equipment.
- Performing cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and adjustments as needed.
