The Opportunity

As a dedicated credentialed actuary on the Auto Pricing team, you will leverage advanced knowledge in at least one actuarial practice area (pricing, reserving, modeling, catastrophe risk, claims analytics, product management, etc.) to lead and complete broad, complex unstructured projects with countrywide product-level impact.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.

What you'll do:

  • Apply advanced actuarial knowledge to complete broad and complex projects (e.g., evaluates and selects methodology to price new discount/endorsement for countrywide rollout; develops alternative methodologies to comply with complex regulatory requirements; selects metrics and designs processes to monitor model performance; translates business problems into technical requirements and performs required analysis to develop solutions; independently runs catastrophe models and interprets and communicates results to support critical business activities, while enhancing the control environment as needed.
  • Utilize advanced actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques to augment actuarial work product.
  • Lead special actuarial projects, such as the development of new methodologies or reporting tools.
  • Train new team members on the theory and mechanics of relevant actuarial methodologies.
  • Apply deep understanding of products supported, stakeholders needs, and industry trends to solve unstructured business problems.
  • Identify and anticipates compliance gaps and process improvements; recommends and develops solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Represent Actuary in cross-functional efforts.
  • Develop written communication and presentations that effectively convey data-driven solutions to broad audiences, including cross-functional executive leadership.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelors degree; OR 4 years of related Actuarial/business/analytical experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) Credential.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques and approaches used to support fact-based decision-making.

**Pricing Lead** : Lead business partner for assigned OU/Portfolio
**Product Launch Strategy** :
+ Downstream and upstream modeling and analysis, market execution, and performance analysis
+ Develop pricing models to support product feature selection and portfolio development for current and future products
+ Perform revenue modeling to set new product price premiums considering customer segments
+ Develop execution plans (account planning), tracking metrics and analytics post launch
+ Present and gain alignment with business leadership on pricing strategies

**Program Management** :
+ Creation and ongoing management of Pricing Programs through collaboration with OU, Sales, & Contracting

**Price Reporting** :

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**

This role as a Senior Pricing Strategy Analyst is an integral role responsible for defining market value (price setting), driving revenue & profit optimization, executing pricing governance, pricing operations, advanced analytics, and leading price management (price getting) for a defined Operating Unit (OU) or Portfolio. As a key member of the US Pricing Strategy Team, you will support the objectives of the Americas Region through driving effective and efficient business decision making while maximizing financial results. **Pricing Lead** : Lead business partner for assigned OU/Portfolio
**Product Launch Strategy** :
+ Downstream and upstream modeling and analysis, market execution, and performance analysis
+ Develop pricing models to support product feature selection and portfolio development for current and future products
+ Perform revenue modeling to set new product price premiums considering customer segments
+ Develop execution plans (account planning), tracking metrics and analytics post launch
+ Present and gain alignment with business leadership on pricing strategies
+ Partner to ensure product pricing models support market dynamics, successful implementation, and drive launch goals
**Program Management** :
+ Creation and ongoing management of Pricing Programs through collaboration with OU, Sales, & Contracting
+ Lead and collaborate on initiatives across the organization to drive efficiency in price programs, processes, tools, and systems
+ Create and implement proactive pricing programs and risk assessments for assigned OUs
**Price Reporting** :
+ Lead and or create pricing council / summit material
+ Create and advise on quarterly analysis of price drivers, trends, and market insights
+ Review price forecasts and assist with enterprise ASP reporting initiatives
**Pricing Execution & Management** :
+ Manage governance processes, floors, deal reviews, and approvals; improve outcomes
+ Assist in design, own governance the policy, and advise on enforcement & operations
+ Workshop and advise on deals to drive improved outcomes (approval authority on deals within price bands)
+ Advise on pricing systems, tools, and deal analytics requirements
+ Develop and train sales and contracting on tools, price strategies, and processes
+ Support pricing operations function on price set up where necessary (system price uploading, mapping, etc.)
+ Analyze and monitor competitive pricing to determine strategies to mitigate impacts to our portfolio
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**
**EDUCATION REQUIRED:**
Bachelor's Degree
**YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:**
4+ years of relevant experience; or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

_This position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States. Ideal candidates will be based near the Dublin, OH, office. Candidates must be able to work within EST or CST business hours._
**_What Pricing Strategy contributes to Cardinal Health_**
Revenue Management is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the execution of market strategy and profitability optimization through pricing and value-capture activities at both the strategic and tactical levels. The group uses modeling, analytics, and econometrics to create pricing strategies for our products and services.
Pricing Strategy acts to set overarching deal and product pricing strategies, provides guidance on value to help inform the negotiation strategy, and creates standard offer designs and target profitability for each business unit or customer segment.
**_Responsibilities_**
+ Provide market pricing intelligence, pricing analytics and pricing recommendations to the Marketing and Sales teams.
+ Understand Product and Category strategy, financial objectives, and Pricing expectations.
+ Manage the execution of a wide variety of price realization initiatives and ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business opportunities.
+ Data analysis and financial modeling, applying analytics and data visuals to extract insights and effectively draw applicable recommendations.
+ Collaborates effectively across functions in Marketing, Sales, FP&A, and within the US based Revenue Management organization to design, execute and/or enhance processes and tools.
+ Communicates key pricing insights across the organization, while being comfortable when challenged
+ Supports profitability analysis via pricing lens for business transactions and customer RFPs
+ Ability to grasp economic concepts, commercial processes, systems, and controls.
+ Refresh and lead quarterly or semi- annual medical products pricing strategy reviews with Marketing organization
**_Qualifications_**
+ 4-8 years of experience, preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
+ Experienced in Microsoft office, and SQL

+ May contribute to the development of policies and procedures
+ Works on complex projects of large scope
+ Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

+ Completes work; independently receives general guidance on new projects
+ Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives
+ May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
**Anticipated salary range:** $79,700 - $113,800
_**The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity._
