Education and Experience

- 4-6 years of experience in network engineering and support roles.
- Experience with enterprise networking equipment, preferably HPE Aruba products.
- Strong proficiency in RADIUS, TACACS+, and LDAP for secure authentication and access control.
- In-depth understanding of 802.1X, PKI, firewalls, VPNs, endpoint security, and encryption standards.

Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Network Support Engineer/Specialist. The ideal candidate will be capable of diagnosing network and security issues, configuring hardware/software systems, and collaborating across teams to enhance and maintain IT infrastructure. This role also involves Level 1 and Level 2 support responsibilities.
Reporting to the Manager - Network and Security, the Network Support Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Provide L1 and L2 technical support for network and security-related incidents.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, access points, VPNs, and related devices.
- Manage and administer IT assets including security cameras, drones, access readers, laptops, printers, plotters, and Wi-Fi access points.
- Monitor and analyze logs, security alerts, and packet captures to determine root causes of issues.
- Maintain internal knowledge base, documentation, and technical resources.
- Collaborate with networking and security teams to implement fixes and preventive measures.
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotation as needed.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting network operations, preferably within an industrial environment.
- Solid knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and general network security principles.

- Documented tested experience demonstrating expertise (see below)
- A bachelor's degree in education , special education, or a related field
- Background in curriculum development, instruction, or student assessment preferred
- A+ Certification
For faculty who do not meet degree requirements, tested experience (industry experience, certifications, or demonstrated expertise) may be used to qualify. This must be documented and justified based on industry standards.
Exceptions & Special Cases
- Dual Credit Faculty must meet both Ivy Tech and Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE) requirements.
Official college transcripts required upon hiring, and employment contingent on acceptable criminal background checks.
Work Hours:
Day, evening and/or Saturday classes based on class schedule and enrollment.

$47.35 per contact hour
