**Summary**
The Manager Logistics is responsible to manage all activities associated with the efficient operation of accounts. This includes P&L responsibility, ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, employee relations and safety.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Overall responsibility for maintaining a high level of accuracy and control of the flow of goods through the Operations and Distribution center located in Edgewood, New York. This vital role within NII is to provide effective and efficient operational and inventory control support to not only our main distribution, but will also be directly involved with 3rd party logistics, vendors and CDC located in Louisville, KY.
  • This position will require strong SAP knowledge along with CMS (Consignment Management System) or equivalent to manage inventory control processes pertaining to PO receipts, outbound orders along with the high volume of moving materials within the Distribution Centers. Utilize prior job knowledge and skills to implement cost reduction and/or improvements to the operations that will have positive bottom-line results.
  • Follow and adhere to established Standard Operational Procedures to ensure compliance with documented policies while meeting with established goals and objectives required for this position.
Requirements:

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and tracking inventory through SAP(WMS) and Consignment Management System (CMS) for accurate inventory control.
  • Timely and accurate processing of inbound receipts within SAP will include properly transferring material to established bin locations. Strong record keeping required for researching the disposition of receipts.
  • Maintain and improve on organizing WIP and staging areas for efficient flow of materials along with utilizing visual markers (Cones) when applicable to aid in additional improvements.
  • Work closely with all internal departments as it pertains to repair parts receiving, RMA’s, System builds for proper distribution and processing for efficient and timely movement of materials.
  • Work closely with outside vendors to achieve the lowest costs on supplies and/or services that do not jeopardize our high-quality expectations.
  • SAP/WMS processing for outbound orders utilizing configured RF-Devices.
  • Proper carrier documentation through carrier BOL process or standard UPS tracking procedures
  • Responsible for cycle counts and participation in periodic physical inventories for all internal and external locations within Nikon & 3PL facilities.
  • Strong focus on enforcing and implementing required documentation for all equipment leaving the Distribution Centers and seeking proper approvals as required.
  • Follow the Quality Management System (QMS) workflows and update processes, policy and procedure documentation when necessary.
  • Ability to research all SAP transactions by movement type to effectively resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Strong analytical skills required through SAP, CMS and current reporting for cost reductions and business planning initiatives to support the Operations and CDC with process improvements.
  • Use of CMS program to scan barcodes on materials and to enter appropriate notes as required in database for receipt confirmations at the Operations facility.
  • Coordinating the receipt and export of materials at the dock, communicating and notating all damaged or irregular shipments while retaining documents to meet company requirements.
  • Oversee SAP orders and follow through on allocation, backorders, consignment and shipping process.
  • Oversee consignments for MBL, CSHL, NBIL, NAMC and other Nikon facilities where inventory is located for Demo’s.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.

ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate shipping/receiving for all service repairs on inbound/outbound processing.
  • Assist with Quality Management System (QMS) on documentation and product markings
  • Research reasons for missing products on consignments, prepare statistical reports as to losses and submit write-off requests to management.
  • Maintain and organize storage boxes, Kits, packing material, etc. in the warehouse
  • Ensure all Warehouse safety protocols are strictly enforced
  • Review incurred freight costs and implement freight reduction initiatives
  • All other duties as required or needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • BA, BS, BBA or equivalent

**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven **Director of Supply Chain Enabling** to support the Direct Materials supply chain at Western Digital. This leader will be responsible for coordinating supply readiness, capacity scaling, cross-functional alignment, and risk mitigation to support successful new product introductions (NPIs), volume transitions, and manufacturing scale-ups. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Lead cross-functional ramp planning efforts to ensure supply chain readiness for new product introductions, demand surges, and global scale-ups.

**Qualifications**
**REQUIRED:**

+ 10+ years of progressive experience in technical supply chain functions (strategic sourcing or operations), with at least 5 years in program or project leadership roles
+ Strong working knowledge of supply chain planning, ramp management, supply chain scaling, technical capability development, supplier management and manufacturing operations
+ Proven track record in leading large-scale, cross-functional programs across Global Operations networks
+ Excellent executive presence, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
+ Proven track record of leadership and team management in a matrixed, global organization

The Senior Supply Chain Account Manager will play a pivotal role in managing key supplier relationships, driving strategic sourcing initiatives, and ensuring cost-effective procurement across specific commodity categories. This is a principal level individual contributor role focused specifically on unique Hard Disk Drive technologies, reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing for Heads & Media. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, cost reduction strategies, and commodity market analysis. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to optimize the end-to-end supply chain, maintain supply continuity, and enhance supplier performance. Candidate will play a key role in coaching team members, fostering a collaborative environment across matrixed teams, and driving continuous improvement in contracting and negotiation skills throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Commodity Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of commodity-specific sourcing strategies to ensure the availability of high-quality, cost-effective materials.
  • Supplier Management: Manages strategic supplier relationships at an executive level, while driving value through strategic sourcing decisions. Aligns philosophical business partnership and working model across executive leadership at both companies. Evaluates supplier performance, issues, and drive improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiations with suppliers on pricing, terms, and service level agreements (SLAs). Develop and manage contracts to meet company objectives. Manages compliance to contracting terms and proactively develops and manages contracting metrics.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost-saving initiatives within the commodity group. Identify opportunities for cost reductions, alternative suppliers, and process improvements.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor commodity market trends and dynamics. Provide insights on pricing trends, potential supply risks, and opportunities for alternative sourcing.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, product development, logistics, and manufacturing teams to align commodity sourcing with production needs and timelines.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify supply chain risks (e.g., material shortages, supplier disruptions) and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Performance Reporting: Track key supplier and commodity performance metrics, including delivery lead times, quality metrics, and cost savings, and report on progress to senior leadership.
  • Supplier Development: Work with suppliers to improve their capabilities, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with quality standards and production schedules.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum bachelor's degree in engineering + master's degree in business administration with 10+ years of relevant experience in Contract/Supplier Management.
  • Direct experience in Hard Disk Drive or Semiconductor industry.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations, cost reduction strategies, and market intelligence analysis.
  • Deep expertise in contracting and supplier contract negotiations.
  • Strong legal acumen.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading and driving organizational transformations.
  • Ability to drive results in a matrixed, cross-functional organization through executive presence, stakeholder management, communication and influence.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools (e.g., Ariba, Coupa).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and provide strategic insights to leadership.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain or Engineering).
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM) or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in designing and implementing supplier development or training programs, particularly around contracting and negotiation.
  • Experience in designing and implementing supplier relationship management programs across globally matrixed organizations.

Compensation and benefits details:

An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; skills, ability, knowledge of the job; performance, contribution and results; geographic location; shift; internal and external equity; and business and organizational needs. The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned. You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under either Western Digital's Short Term Incentive Plan ("STI Plan") or the Sales Incentive Plan ("SIP") which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance, depending on your role and your performance. You may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
