Overview
The Specialized Recruiting Group (SRG) has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in the medical consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry to recruit a Supply Chain Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, maintaining healthy inventory levels, and ensuring consistent product availability across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. This position also provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, manage complex supply chain operations, and contribute to both local site activities and broader corporate initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier & Inventory Management
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
- Issue and manage purchase orders to align with production schedules and inventory targets
- Monitor and optimize inventory health, including turns, aging, expiration dating, and obsolescence
- Track and report on supplier performance (lead times, fill rates, quality, responsiveness)
- Obtain supplier documentation such as certificates of compliance, sterility, and analysis
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with demand planners to align supply with forecasts and identify potential gaps or risks
- Work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to align supply with business needs
- Collaborate with Regulatory and Quality teams to ensure compliance with requirements
- Write and issue Change Notices for new or modified products
Process Improvement & Systems
- Maintain and update lead times, safety stock, and planning parameters for accuracy
- Identify and mitigate supply risks and bottlenecks proactively
- Support procurement automation as part of the companys Digital Transformation initiatives
- Utilize Syspro ERP and Atlas by John Galt MRP tools to manage supply planning processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance planning, supply reliability, and cost reduction
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of supply planning, procurement, or related supply chain experience in CPG, cGMP, or medical product environments
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Syspro and/or Atlas by John Galt preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and comfort with complex datasets
Core Competencies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and solve problems independently
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork
Preferred Qualifications

- Ensure that physical and electronic inventory data are accurate.

- Validate material availability for production plan ensure that materials are on order for scheduled production.
- Assists with the sourcing process for raw materials & packaging.
