Job Description

Claxton Logistics Services LLC, is looking for a qualified Inventory Technician to join our team.  The Inventory Technician shall provide logistics services to assist the Government with Inventory Management and management of the Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS). The general scope of required services is inventory support/accountability. Services are centered on managing furnishings, fixtures, furniture and equipment.

Primary Duties:  

  • Maintain DPAS and provide data entry services for all of the various system files.
  • Conduct physical inventories of general equipment
  • Assist with preserving and monitoring requirements to ensure audit readiness.
  • Identify and document problems and perform file maintenance.
  • Produce reports and update all new items with accurate data.
  • Assist with identification and bar coding/labeling of new issuances.
  • Verify inventory files using barcode scanners.
  • Respond to request and questions concerning the status of properties.
  • File documents and distribute computer generated reports.
  • Participate in an internal staff meetings and provide briefings as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience/Qualification:

  • Experience with the Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS)
  • Experience with inventory management
  • High School Diploma/GED or relevant experience
Additional Skills:
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficiency in various MS Office applications for general support.
  • Experience using SharePoint portals.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.

Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a Government investigation.
Location: The National Capitol Region
Work Schedule/Environment: Fast-paced customer service office environment. 
Physical Demands:
  • Light to heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.), light to heavy carrying, standing or working for long periods of time is required.
  • Must operate hand or power jacks, and carts in performing warehouse duties.

**Job Functions:**
+ Oversee all inventory processes, including receiving, outgoing shipments, stock levels, cycle counts, and audits to ensure accuracy and availability.
+ Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely deliveries, returns, and effective inventory flow.
+ Maintain accurate inventory records using store systems and investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
+ Support store leadership with daily operations, reporting, task execution, safety practices, and cash handling.
+ Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment, while training team members on inventory procedures, product rotation (FIFO), and loss prevention practices.
**Experience:**
+ 1+ year of experience in inventory control or related field.
**Skills and Demands:**
+ Strong attention to detail in tracking, counting, and reporting inventory.
+ Ability to work independently and follow established inventory protocols.
+ Comfortable using computers for inventory tracking, reporting, and internal communication.
+ Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes and basic supply chain procedures.
+ Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer programs and technology.
