Inventory Specialist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay: $17.48 per hour, Monday to Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm
Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate levels of supplies in all assigned areas, including stocking, restocking, and staging orders for delivery.
- Pick and stage orders for walk-up window and batch requests, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Conduct physical inventory counts of supply cabinets and warehouse inventory as scheduled.
- Audit deliveries against receipts and documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Operate materials management systems to assess inventory levels, transaction history, and pending orders.
- Perform maintenance, exchange, and transport activities for specialty carts (e.g., code carts, surgical carts, respiratory boxes).
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding supply chain services, schedules, and requisitions.
- Assist with mail preparation, book binding, laminating, and other finishing services as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a related position, preferably in a healthcare or supply chain environment.
- Experience working with a materials management system is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service.
Essential Functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position and move/traverse throughout the facility as needed.
- Frequently office and warehouse equipment operates (computers, copiers, printers, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
- Frequently moves, transport, and positions supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information both in writing and orally.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple assignments.
Work Environment
- Often work indoors but may sometimes work outdoors or travel to and from work sites in a car or van.
- Exposed to equipment such as power tools and warehouse machinery daily.
- Sometimes exposed to contaminants such as cleaning solvents.
- Occasionally exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable; machinery can be quite loud.
