Investment Office General Overview
Mass General Brighams Investment Office manages more than $22 billion for MGB, invested primarily via partnerships with third party investment management firms. Strategies in the portfolio include private equity, venture capital, long-only equities, long/short equities, and real assets investments. The goal is to generate excellent long-term risk adjusted returns to support MGBs mission to improve the lives and health outcomes of patients globally.
The Investment Office offers a collaborative, team-oriented environment. All investment team members are generalists, but personal sector interests are encouraged. About the Role: This position offers a unique opportunity to have an outsized impact on a $0+ billion investment portfolio serving the long-term operations of a renowned healthcare institution. They employ an endowment-style approach to investing and partner with external investment managers to access the most attractive investments globally. Their work entails underwriting both these managers and the assets in their portfolios. MGBs long-duration capital, scaled capital base, partnership-oriented approach, and mission make their team an attractive collaborator for managers who share a similar time horizon and values. The Investment Office offers a collaborative and meritocratic environment in which all members of the investment staff sit on internal investment committees.
Investment staff members travel domestically and internationally to evaluate new and evolving opportunity sets, meet managers, and visit companies. This role will lead and co-lead diligence processes and make investment recommendations, work that entails both rigorous analytics and creative thinking. In addition, all investment staff members are engaged in portfolio management decisions and have opportunities to present to the Investment Committee. This role will help refine and evolve the teams investment strategy as the investment universe evolves.
The investment team is small and requires each member to possess a nimble, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to tackle novel challenges. Strong candidates will have the following qualifications:

Position Summary:
Cambridge Associates Credit Investment Group (CIG) is responsible for all fixed income and credit-related investment strategies on a global basis. This spans private credit, credit hedge fund, and public investment grade and non-investment grade funds. Fund strategies include asset classes such as investment-grade, leverage loan and high-yield bond funds; credit and distressed hedge funds; and direct lending, mezzanine, distressed and other specialty credit strategies executed through private funds. In addition to identifying compelling manager, fund and market investment opportunities, the CIG also works directly with other Investment Directors and clients in constructing, implementing and managing credit portfolios.
The Investment Director will have an integral role collaborating with the groups Managing Directors while providing leadership and direction to the Investment Associates. The Investment Director will primarily focus on Private Credit and either lead or assist in (i) identifying market themes and investor trends(ii) identifying and monitoring a range of sub strategies within Private Credit including hosting manager meetings and conducting comprehensive due diligence; (iii) acting as an expert resource for the firms investment professionals for credit-related inquiries and (iv) coordinating various other activities related to the CIG. Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with other members of the Credit Investment Group, develop opinions on private credit landscapes including all sub-strategies such as Direct Lending, Credit Opportunities, Specialty Finance, and Special Sits/Distressed, through continuous qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. Articulately share and communicate these perspectives throughout the firm internally and externally.
Develop a deep understanding of the relationship between public credit markets and private credit offerings. Be able to compare and explain the trends in public and private credit markets.
Actively evaluate and monitor investment managers to source new investment ideas. Lead meetings with general partners, portfolio managers, and other senior personnel, and attend annual meetings and industry conferences. Compose summaries and commentaries of manager meetings.
Conduct in-depth investment due diligence on private credit managers through in-person meetings, onsite interviews, reference checks, performance analytics, and independent critical analysis. Assess funds in terms of organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, portfolio construction, and other key attributes, and develop a cogent opinion/recommendation of the opportunity. Prepare written reports for use internally and externally which provide colleagues and clients information and a basis for investment decisions.
Serve as an informed, trusted resource to colleagues and clients seeking views and ideas on the private credit landscape including i) the risk return profiles of various sub strategies; ii) comparisons with fixed income products and other asset classes both private and public; iii) the global macro trends affecting credit; and iv) fund managers across the private credit space.
Qualifications:

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking to hire an Investment Director who will work for the Co-Chief Investment Officers (CIOs) while partnering with other team members to construct and manage client portfolios and communicate timely information to the teams clients. Opportunity to work with (and learn from) a team in the Private Client Practice managing client portfolios that range in size from $200 million to >$ billion.
The team functions as the dedicated investment office for 12 family offices in the U.S., Canada, Central America, and South America. They currently manage over 16 billion in client assets and have consistently delivered top decile/quartile returns. Given their focus on timely client engagement and efficient portfolio execution, they have grown organically through client referrals, as well as strong networks in the family office market. The team has a flat structure with clear roles and ownership of all investment and operating processes. RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Co-CIOs and Investment Directors in the management of client portfolios and relationships
Global Markets and Investment Managers: Stay abreast of market developments, actions, and changes to develop a view on how client portfolios should be positioned and the impact of market actions (both positive and negative) to clients portfolios. Build manager knowledge and relationships to ultimately leverage these networks for access to capacity constrained managers, co-investment opportunities. Conduct manager due diligence as needed.
Provide input to Client/Prospect Portfolio construction: Understand implications of clients spending, family enterprise and specific circumstances to model recommendations for asset allocation and portfolio construction.Provide input to investment decisions (thematic areas of focus, portfolio construction guidelines, current exposures, liquidity levels etc.)
Monitor Client Portfolios: For liquidity, sector and geographical exposures, currency, and asset class weights develop insights from this process to drive recommendations and decisions.
Projects: Lead investment related projects that have direct impact on strategic asset allocation decisions. Additionally, storyboard and lead projects related to ad-hoc client questions and requests.
Effectively communicate to clients through effective written and verbal communications: Effectively communicate recommendations to clients (and prospects) in a concise, transparent and intuitive manner that is appropriate for audiences of varying investment expertise.
Team Management: Manage a team of investment analysts including overseeing and directing workflow across the analyst team to ensure high quality deliverables.

Five to ten years of investment experience with strong preference for having worked on a trading desk, at an investment manager or a capital allocator (competitor to CA)
