Overview:
The Director Investment External Reporting, leads a team of financial analysts and accountants in producing GAAP investment reporting, managing the quarterly investment credit loss process, and overseeing the monthly reporting close process for derivatives and limited partnerships. This role collaborates with many individuals across the HIMCO platform and Controllers, with a focus on controls and continuous improvement projects. This role is based in our Hartford, CT, Home Office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead the preparation of investment sections of The Hartford's 10Qs, 10Ks, and Investor Financial Supplements, including performing research, incorporating new disclosures, and providing updates on portfolio developments and market conditions
+ Direct the quarterly credit loss review and yield update process. Analyze investment trends and market factors to inform discussions regarding loss expectations and quantitative cash flow modeling outcomes to inform recommendations. Responsible for final presentation to HIMCO senior leadership and the HIG Controller
+ Oversee the monthly accounting close process for derivatives and limited partnerships, including hedge effectiveness testing, facilitating information delivery for these asset classes, and reviewing net investment income budget/outlook projections
+ Collaborate on and support the implementation of new accounting standards and investment types, engaging in thorough accounting policy research and assessment of financial statement impacts
+ Participate as an active member of the HIMCO Valuation Committee, offering expertise and insight on development and maintenance of valuation models
+ Work with external auditors to support GAAP audit requirements, as well as the testing and review of SOX controls
+ Champion a continuous improvement mindset by leveraging advanced functionalities within the investment accounting system, data warehouse, TM1, A.I. technologies, and other platforms to optimize workflow efficiencies
+ Lead and mentor a team of analysts and accountants, providing ongoing coaching and feedback while promoting behaviors identified by The Hartford
+ Support a variety of ad hoc requests to assist in investment portfolio management decisions
Qualifications
+ Minimum five or more years of relevant experience in an accounting role in a large corporate setting. Experience in a large public accounting firm and/or in the investment or insurance industry preferred
+ Familiarity with GAAP accounting and a strong control mindset; strong technical and analytic abilities with a comprehensive understanding of capital markets and business drivers; ability to be a strong thought partner
+ Experienced at successfully managing people, with a demonstrated ability to effectively coach and develop a team
+ Strong work ethic, able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
+ Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) and organizational skills
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; advanced degree and/or CPA a plus

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

**Description**
The Manager of Investment Accounting and Performance Reporting is an integral member of the Emory Investment Management (EIM) Investment Operations team. All roles function as a member of a broader operations team and may include participating in activities related to any of the 10BN+ in investments under supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Maintains a thorough knowledge of the endowment's operations functions.
+ Maintains responsibilities associated with investment accounting, performance accounting, portfolio operations, internal and external reporting, and other duties as assigned.
+ Works independently and will be assigned to supervise investment operations analyst and accountant.
INVESTMENT ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Oversees the self-administration process.
+ This includes reviewing accounting transactions, monthly and quarterly valuation, accounts reconciliations, financial schedules, researching and resolving accounting issues.
+ Manages the accounting close process and ensures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of all activities.
+ Monitors outstanding commitments and fees.
+ Reviews expenses, fee payments, and monthly accruals.
+ Communicates and coordinates with the bank custodian on tracking, reconciling, and validating transactions and valuation of the separately managed accounts.
+ Assists with preparation of various audit workpapers.
+ Answers any ad-hoc inquiries, as well as questions related to all investment schedules as needed by the external auditors in a timely manner.
PERFORMANCE REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Maintains and refines a performance and reporting system for the investment portfolios.
+ Tracks investment account activity (including cash flow activities) in order to generate reports for performance purposes.
+ Ensures accuracy of all data and related information.
+ Assists with the verification process.
+ Calculates investment performance data in accordance with industry standards.
+ Reviews and validates performance measurement calculation.
+ Calculates and maintains the composite benchmarks in accordance with the Investment Policy Statement.
+ Maintains supporting schedules and sources for the benchmark calculation.
+ Prepares performance report and communicates performance related information to the investment team.
+ Assists with internal and external reporting needs, including Investment Committee Report preparation and review.
PORTFOLIO OPERATIONS AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assists with the operational aspects of the portfolio.
+ Responsible for the oversight of documentation and maintenance of operational policies and procedures.
+ Ensures that operational processes and controls minimize operational risks.
+ Facilitates collaboration to achieve process efficiency.
+ Performs other related duties as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A bachelor's degree, preferably in finance or accounting, and five years of related work experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
+ Candidate must have or is in the process of pursuing CPA, CFA, CIPM, or MBA.
+ Previous asset management experience preferred; high level of professional maturity, integrity, judgement, and discretion required.
+ Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple complex tasks with a focus on detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
+ Demonstrated ability in analyzing and reconciling large complicated financial data reports.

Work you'll do
As a Senior on our PSG IM team, you will:
+ Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various investment compliance and consulting engagements within the insurance and financial services industry
+ Consult with clients in transforming their tax compliance processes using process and technology
+ Lead the development of new features and capabilities in our industry leading iPACS technology ecosystem
+ Lead client engagement teams and client delivery
+ Supervise tax consultants and interns
The Team
PSG is part of National Federal Tax Services (NFTS), a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP made up of a number of tax service offerings. Each NFTS service offering has been developed and built as a result of a tax planning idea, a marketplace need, or a technological innovation-all with the purpose of delivering results for our clients. Qualifications
Required
+ Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
+ 3+ years' experience in federal partnership tax compliance or tax compliance for investments with corporate ownership
+ Bachelors degree in accounting or business-related field
+ Aptitude in Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel
+ Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
+ Strong executive presence and demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
+ A self-starter with demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple, competing priorities
+ Demonstrated ability to proactively develop internal and external working relationships
+ Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
+ One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing/able to obtain:
+ Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
+ If not CPA eligible:
+ Licensed Attorney
+ Enrolled Agent
+ Project Management Professional (PMP)
Preferred
+ Investment management industry experience (e.g. private equity, real estate, fund of funds, hedge funds)
+ Familiarity with tax compliance for investments
+ Experience with data management and automation tools
+ Advanced degree such as MSA or MST
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $82,880 to $175,500.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

The Financial Analyst will support the Merchant Services Finance team by producing and delivering financial and operational analysis which will allow the Seller Support Contact Centers to work more efficiently and predictably, with the highest level of customer satisfaction.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Support internal customer groups and controller in all finance and accounting matters including budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking and control
+ Work with the functional leaders and other finance partners to build scalable financial processes and business metrics
+ Provide financial and business analysis to site leaders and business partners including cost-saving and process improvement recommendations
+ Assist in strategic operational planning process addressing identified risks and opportunities for business team
+ Write systems queries to gather finance data and perform data-mining and analysis using tools including MS Excel and SQL.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
+ 5+ years of relevant finance experience
+ Advanced knowledge of Excel Preferred Qualifications
+ Advanced analytical skills and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment; work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations; strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication
+ Demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
+ Advanced excel and analysis skills
+ Experience with SQL is a strong plus - systems
