Duracell has an exciting opportunity for an Embedded Test Engineer to join our team developing and validating innovative IoT solutions for battery monitoring applications. We are seeking a candidate with a strong tester mindset and attentiveness to detail. In this role, you will be responsible for auditing features, using test scripts, documenting test cases and building hardware environments to validate our system platform, while also contributing to the enhancement of user experience and the development of algorithms, analytics and validation for our IoT devices.

We are looking for an experienced test engineer with a specialty in improving solutions for IoT RF-enabled SoC hardware platforms, diverse sensor integration, IoT systems, along with mobile app and portal validation. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who considers yourself an ethical hacker, focused on verifying products that developers submit for examination. The ideal candidate collaborates closely with skilled and considerate developers and is tactical and can balance routine daily execution of tests against prioritization of critical tasks.

This hybrid position is located in Mid-Town Atlanta, GA with flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test strategies and test cases for an IOT system.
  • Execute test cases to validate system behavior for IOT devices, portal and mobile app.
  • Establish criteria to measure system performance, responsiveness and user experience.
  • Define requirements to improve system testability, logging, and serviceability.
  • Identify key tests for automation coordinating requirements to engineering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated and effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of functionality that enhances user experience.
  • Test various wireless communication protocols, primarily Wi-Fi and BLE.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks, effectively working under time constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Hardware environment setup and maintenance of test equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or 4 years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in testing IoT systems.
  • Experience with test methodologies.
  • Running test scripts, evaluating failure modes, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IoT systems, data processing, and associated communication protocols.
  • Experience with agile development in a tightly coupled test/dev team.
  • Basic hand tool use and mechanical assembly.
  • Requires travel (up to 20%) may be international and domestic.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scripting language skills (Python, JavaScript) beneficial for supporting testing tasks.
  • Previous work on large-scale, high-impact firmware projects.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Understanding of data structures such as JSON and transmission protocols such as UDP, MQTT, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline development with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions, and in server automation using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack
  • Experience securing containers with Cloud One Container Security for image scanning, runtime protection, and compliance
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, data encryption, vulnerability management, and security auditing
  • Knowledge of cloud storage options, including object storage, block storage, and file storage, data lifecycle management, and data backup and recovery strategies
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. KBR is seeking a highly qualified Cloud Computing Engineer to support our customers in Chantilly, VA, that delivers mission-critical capabilities directly supporting intelligence-gathering missions from overhead systems.

This is a contingent position based upon contract award

Responsibilities:

  • Experience and expertise adopting and integrating into cloud architectures and cloud-enabled platforms

  • Experience using Agile; DevSecOps, and Modem Software Factory practices that separate data from applications; use APIs and microservices; and emphasize continuous software development and deployment.

  • Able to identify, evaluate, and recommend architectural improvements/opportunities for both FGA 2.0 and future ground architectures maximizing data centricity, application service-centric concepts; cloud use, software frameworks, microservices, APIs and applications

  • Skilled in the development/maintenance of reference Cloud architectures and design patterns

  • Evaluate and make recommendations to ensure Agency architectures maximize use of cloud services and align with the FGA 2.0 vision

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security personnel, to ensure alignment on architecture decisions and implementation approaches. Documenting design choices, configurations, and procedures facilitates knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related STEM field

  • 10+ years of experience with software engineering

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise computing and operating systems (OS) and cloud computing platforms, such as Linux, Windows, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Cloud-based solutions experience leveraging large cloud-computing infrastructure and platforms architecting, engineering, developing and deploying systems and applications into a cloud environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
