JOB SUMMARY:
This role will be a key contributor to the development of complex embedded systems. Leading firmware design efforts, this role will mentor junior engineers, participate in system-level architecture decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. This role demands a deep understanding of firmware development, extensive experience in coding and debugging, and the ability to provide technical leadership within the organization. This role is expected to be on-site in the Versailles or Cincinnati, Ohio location 4 days a week. This in not a remote position.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Provides technical guidance for system-level decisions.
- Conducts thorough code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Optimizes firmware for performance, power efficiency, and memory usage.
- Drives the design of firmware architecture particularly in systems using Real Time Operating Systems.
- Drives innovation in firmware development processes and methodologies.
- Collaborates with leadership and other cross functional departments to align decisions with organizational goals.
- Leads design of complex systems, researches and proposes innovative solutions.

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field and 6+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of both.
COMPETENCY and/or SKILL:
- In-depth knowledge of various microcontroller and microprocessor architectures
- Understanding of real-time operating systems
- Experience in designing firmware architecture for complex systems
- Proficiency in languages such as C; C++; GO; Elvish for embedded Linux systems. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and testing
- Ability to integrate firmware with broader system architectures
- Ability to lead the design of complex, interconnected systems and shape the organization's technical direction
- Ability to effectively communicate technical strategies and decisions to executives
- Ability to establish and enforce quality standards that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements

- IOT Platform Engineer with 10+ years exp.
- CCIE Certification is Required.
- Candidates focus will be developing lab framework to connect IOT end points to Campus/branch networks and certify the underlying hardware, software features and end point functionality.
- Candidate would be required to identity various communication scenarios between end and edge devices and create and execute and/ or oversee the testing of data gathering, aggregation, and analytics capabilities.
- Experience of Ciscos or other vendor similar product on SD-Access (SDA) and 802.1x or NAC (Network Admission Control) and TrustSec related functionality.
- Related to these are being well versed in Cisco IOS-XE products, Micro/Macro Segmentation configurations, Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) as it is the management GUI / controller for SD-Access and its automation.
