Responsibilities

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on our Technology Services Team, you will play a key role in the design, planning, and execution of projects related to GUARD's server, storage, backup, and virtualization environments in the cloud.  An ideal candidate should be able to understand and implement public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions, as well as analyze and resolve complex issues related to these areas. Monitor system performance and capacity and provide proactive remediation. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in Azure cloud infrastructure projects.

The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on our Technology Services Team, you will play a key role in the design, planning, and execution of projects related to GUARD's server, storage, backup, and virtualization environments in the cloud.  An ideal candidate should be able to understand and implement public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions, as well as analyze and resolve complex issues related to these areas. Monitor system performance and capacity and provide proactive remediation. Provide cloud services estimates and identify trends and opportunities for process and technology advancements to critical Infrastructure. Act as a technical escalation point for team members. We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to work out of one of these locations: Corporate Office in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Parsippany, NJ, Chicago, IL, Alpharetta, GA, or Dallas-Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in Azure cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Design and implement infrastructure technical solutions that exhibit high levels of performance, security and scalability, while keeping any risks/impacts to the business in mind.

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) Community customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. As part of the systems engineering team, you will support an exciting program which involves design, development, test, and deployment of an exciting and complex system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders. What you'll do:

    Work closely with DoD customer and stakeholders throughout system lifecycle in development, integration & test, deployment, and operations of a highly sophisticated ground system architecture.
  • Help build mission-critical, highly available, high-performance networked systems in a team-oriented environment. Build and deploy cloud instances and applications utilizing automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Develop deployment and maintenance Ansible playbooks for the purpose of automating rapid installation and system patching within multiple large-scale environments
  • Develop systems engineering-related documentation to include operational concept, requirements, specifications, interface control documents, and validation & verification plans.
  • Conduct system planning and design for expansion of these resources to meet program needs.
  • Support ground system related trade studies.


Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Associates degree and 7+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; or a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field. Additional Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Possess certifications, training, and/or experience in compliance with DoD 8140 for position held. OR be working toward certification.
  • Direct experience with Linux and Windows-based operating systems
  • Experience installing, configuring, and deploying services from scratch to include configuration of security, certificate, and authentication settings
  • Ability to use scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible for task automation such as package installation and configuration across an array of physical and/or virtual hosts
  • Direct experience with Ansible for system configuration to include building and editing playbooks
  • Experience with host/application integration into an Identity and Access Management (IDAM) system such as Active Directory, FreeIPA, or similar system
  • Operating System administration skills for RHEL 7.x and above to include building systems up from bare metal, performing software package installation and update, operating system, and application troubleshooting
  • Experience in security hardening to include patching for vulnerabilities, configuration changes, working with SELinux, and troubleshooting while leveraging automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating virtual machine templates. Hands-on experience in virtualization technologies such as OpenStack, Azure, Citrix XenServer Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and/or VMWare highly preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with multiple Red Hat tools, to include Red Hat OpenStack, OpenShift, and Satellite
  • Experience working with container technologies to include Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes tools
  • Experience implementing and leveraging system monitoring tools, to include log aggregation (Splunk), and data gathering (Nagios, Sensu, etc.)
  • You have experience in designing, developing, and integrating a complete satellite ground system to include infrastructure, processing frameworks, and software components.
  • You have familiarity with any or all of the following, preferably in a satellite ground system context: Object-oriented development practices and processes, open architecture systems, distributed computing technologies, web services, SOA, networking technologies, requirements management tools, scripting, automated test tools, modeling and simulation, and/or security certification and accreditation processes.
  • You can express yourself confidently, concisely, and accurately through written and oral communications.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management, the customer and tenants across DoD.
  • You are detail/ process oriented, can multi-task, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
