**The Role**
Newport News Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions and provide the opportunity to gain experience in their field of study as well as an understanding of our business. Overview:

In this 10-week specialized program, you will engage in IT security across all Randa offices and associated companies. This program will give you a broad IT knowledge across multiple technology disciplines, the security vulnerabilities associated with each technology area/discipline, and best practices to detect and prevent threats to Randa. IT Security Analyst Intern Duties and Responsibilities

The IT Analytics Intern will have the opportunity to gain fantastic hands-on experience and build your resume with corporate mentorship and exposure to the field of data analysis, data science, and IT. The Analytics Intern will work with large datasets to gain meaningful insights and produce visual representations that can help the team make informed decisions, improve efficiency, and enhance overall IT performance. To excel as an IT Analytics Intern, it's essential to have a solid understanding of data analysis techniques, as well as a strong interest in information technology. Additionally, a willingness to learn, adapt, and solve complex IT challenges is highly valuable in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering detailed data, analyzing and developing recommendations to deliver solutions to business opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally with other areas of the business, contributing to priority transformation initiatives
  • Create and manage operational reports that provide valuable insights to the stakeholders
  • Adapt to rapidly changing requirements and priorities
  • Perform data analysis and recommend opportunities for process improvement
  • Develop recommendations from analysis
  • Present recommendations to senior management

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree as a Junior or Senior student on path for Data Analytics, Computer Science or Information Systems or related field
  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communications skills and able to succeed in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (i.e. ability to create charts, graphs, pivot tables, advanced formulas, statistical tools, etc.)
  • Strong blend of analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have a few days of open availability and be able to work a minimum of 20-25 hours.
