**The Opportunity:**

+ Works with Systems Engineers and cross-organizational teams to define requirements.
+ Resolves complex network problems, operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators.
+ Designs, implements, and evaluates security systems
+ Contributes to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management
+ Supports the Government in providing technical leadership to engineering teams
+ Recommends corporate solutions to resolve security requirements
+ Supports the Government in enforcement of design / implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures
+ Ten (10) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
+ Four (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
+ Five (5) years experience with the following Network Tools; What's Up Gold and NetFlow.
+ Three years' experience with DCID 6/3 and/or ICD 503, "Intelligence Community Information Technology Systems Security Risk Management, Certification and Accreditation", dated 15 September 2008
+ Three years' experience creating firewall rule sets from analysis of network traffic
+ Three years' experience with component validation of security devices
+ Three years' experience integrating boundary solutions into customer networks

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
+ Define team goals, track progress, and ensure successful delivery of projects and operational support.
+ Work closely with IT leadership, security teams, and other stakeholders to align network strategies with business needs.
Hands-On Technical Work
+ Support, manage, and optimize enterprise network, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and data center connectivity.
+ Assist with Design and Implementation of Enterprise Network architecture
+ Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware (routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points) and associated software.
+ Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability across network systems.
+ Implement and maintain robust network security measures in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.
+ Lead incident response for network outages and performance issues, providing root cause analysis and preventative recommendations.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities
+ Evaluate and recommend network technologies, tools, and vendors.
+ Oversee capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost management for network operations.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, standards, and procedures.
+ Manage network change control processes to minimize downtime and risk.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 7+ years of progressive network engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
+ Expert-level understanding of:
+ Layer 2/3 networking (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, STP)
+ Network security (VPN, ACLs)
+ Wireless networking and controller-based solutions
+ DNS, DHCP, Web Application Firewall, NTP, SD-WAN, VPN
+ Proficiency with network hardware from major vendors (Juniper, Aruba, Cisco, Ivanti, etc.)
+ Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures.
+ Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent.
+ Experience implementing network automation and monitoring solutions (Python, Ansible, etc.).

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

**Summary:**
Meta's AI Training and Inference Infrastructure is growing exponentially to support ever increasing use cases of AI. This results in a dramatic scaling challenge that our engineers have to deal with on a daily basis. We need to build and evolve our network infrastructure that connects myriads of training accelerators like GPUs together. In addition, we need to ensure that the network is running smoothly and meets stringent performance and availability requirements of RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) workloads. These workloads expect a loss-less fabric interconnect with minimal latency. To improve performance of these systems we constantly look for opportunities across stack: network fabric and host networking, communications lib and scheduling infrastructure.
**Required Skills:**
Network Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
1. Manage engineers who are responsible for design, model, develop, test, deploy and operate AI/HPC Networks at scale
2. Provide continual feedback that is actionable, coach in career development and conduct performance reviews
3. Help define and drive a technical roadmap to meet organizational objectives
4. Be a hands-on manager with technical experience in networking, systems, hardware and software
5. Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapt quickly to new information, prioritize as needed
6. Proactively identify resource needs, participate in recruiting efforts, and hire to grow the team
**Minimum Qualifications:**

7. 8+ years of experience in systems, networking and troubleshooting
8. 4+ years of direct management experience in technology sector
9. Experience in network automation software leveraging software defined networking principles
10. Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience

The Manager, Network Engineering is responsible for managing the Family Dollar data network LAN/WAN team. Focus of this position will be on managing the team that builds/supports the data center(s), distribution center(s) and corporate networks. We are seeking a technically strong individual to lead a team of Network engineering professionals.
This position reports to the Director of Network Architecture.
**Key areas of responsibility:**
- Manage the Network LAN/WAN engineering/operations team.
- Provide clear, specific goals to the team and communicate performance feedback regularly.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight.
- Champion Network growth and stability strategies.
- Manage team response to Network operations escalation events and incidents.
- Manage Network projects/initiatives in support of business requirements.
- Manage team's capital and expense budgets.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Ensure enterprise Networks meet reliability, availability and capacity requirements.
- Provide Network operations leadership/troubleshooting guidance.
- Oversee the design and deployment of Network solutions to support business requirements.
- Perform project management duties as required.
- Interface and coordinate with third party vendors that provide Network services and infrastructure.
- Ensure Network devices are at appropriate software levels and meet enterprise security requirements.
- Ensure accurate network diagrams and documentation are maintained.
- Perform project and non-project related tasks and activities to support department goals and objectives.
- Maintain a high level of expertise in current and emerging technologies
- Propose Network enhancements that improve efficiency/reliability and reduce cost.

**Requirements/Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree, Engineering or Information Systems preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years' experience managing a large, distributed enterprise network.
- Experience working in high square footage, high user count environments.
- Experience with industry standard routing and switching protocols to include: BGP; OSPF and/or EIGRP; HSRP, IPsec/GRE, LACP/VPC, Spanning Tree, etc.
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches (IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR and NX-OS desirable).
- Experience with F5 load balancing systems (LTM and APM desirable).
- Experience with multi-site Riverbed Steelhead WAN Optimization environments desirable.
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor agreements. Large vendor experience preferred.
- Experience developing network management and monitoring tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to present complex technical information in a clear concise manner to executive management.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement processes.
- Independent and proactive management style.
- Ability to work on many concurrent priorities.
- Action oriented and able to manage and meet aggressive timelines and deadlines.
- Strong track record of delivering initiatives on time and on budget.
- Current network and / or security certifications desirable.
- Familiarity with ITIL and IT service management concepts. ServiceNow experience preferred.
