Persons appointed to this position on a full-time basis will receive the following benefits:

Health Allowance and Flexible Benefits Plan

Depending upon the number of dependents the health allowance ranges from 939.36 to 2,480.68 per month for core health benefits. Subject to specific rules, a cash back program is also available with proof of other medical coverage. City employees participate in the PERS Health Program, and may choose their medical coverage from a variety of providers. The City's flexible benefits plan includes medical and dental coverage as core benefits. A range of optional benefits including vision care and medical and dependent care accounts are also available. A term life insurance policy equal to annual salary, long-term disability plan, and an employee assistance plan are provided at City expense.

Other Benefits

The City currently offers the PERS 2.5% at 55 pension plan for "classic" members and 2% at 62 for "new" members. Currently, the City pays the full employer portion of the retirement contribution for "classic" members and 50% of the total normal cost for "new" members. The "classic" member contribution of 8% is a pre-tax payroll deduction; "new" members shall pay 50% of the total normal cost as set by CalPERS. Anyone hired on or after January 1, 2013 will be subject to the applicable provisions, retirement formulas, and plan benefits/restrictions associated with the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013.

Vacation, Sick Leave, Holidays

Annual vacation ranges from two to four weeks per year, based on years of service with the City of Gilroy. Employees accrue eight hours of sick leave each month. Employees receive 44 hours of personal leave time and 56 hours of administrative leave time in July of each fiscal year which must be used during the fiscal year (pro-rating in year of hire/separation). The City observes 10 paid holidays each year.

Medicare/Social Security

Employees participate in Medicare (1.45% for both the employer and employee) as this is a mandated federal program. City of Gilroy does not participate in Social Security.

Payroll

All City employees are paid monthly, on the first business day of each month for the prior calendar month via direct deposit.

Responsibilities

    • (d) Complete Technical Assistance Visit Reports (TAVR), in accordance with the current version of the COMUSFLTFORCOMINST 4790.3 Joint Fleet Maintenance (JFMM), for ship's force, SERMC Code 200 Engineering Department managers, and SERMC Code 300 Maintenance Team
    • (e) Research Departures from Specifications (DFS), Design Service Requests (DSR), Liaison Action Requests (LAR), and Work Specification Reviews(WSR)
    • ( f) Utilize Government software systems to track problems associated with systems/equipment, and for system analysis, to include Tech Assist, Assessments &Scheduling Information (TAAS-Info) and Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) systems
  • Perform assessment and maintenance of shipboard systems and equipment and training in maintenance and overhaul processes
  • Perform the following operational assessment tasks during Total Ships Readiness Assessments, Ballistic Missile Defense Readiness Assessments (BMDRAs), INSURVs/ Mid Cycle Inspections (MCIs), Combat Systems Assessments (CSAs), and Pre-Deployment assessments, or similar test and inspection programs as necessary:
    • (a) Assessment Program tasks include: the full spectrum of services required to perform system equipment assessment and inspections on all ship classes including: scheduling and coordination; test procedure development and maintenance; ordering, tracking, receipt, and delivery of parts and materials; data entry into maintenance and supply information systems; discrepancy tracking, maintenance, and reporting; analysis; reports; technical and logistics research; and discrepancy resolution
    • (b) Fleet Maintenance Program tasks include: investigation of hardware and installation design and safety deficiencies; development of proposed engineering solutions to improve operational reliability, maintainability, and availability; engineering audits of prototype and production modifications and installations; and preparation of engineering and technical reports
    • (c) Engineering, technical, and repair tasks include: development and maintenance of test, certification, and operation procedures; development of repair procedures, specifications and engineering change proposals; and adjudication of DFS and DSR requests. Provide integrated logistics and related support services to include logistics audits, reviews and assessments which determine the adequacy of logistics support and recommend corrective actions to technical documentation, tools, support equipment, configuration, test equipment, and repair parts IAW fleet schedules
  • Perform the following ILS tasks:
    • (a)Assess and recommend changes to shipboard ILS validations and verifications and review logistics documentation and submit 4790/CK forms to document configuration changes to include: Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) reviews for proper Allowance Parts List (APL) coverage; identification of material requisitions for items that are required to correct discrepancies; preparation of PMS documentation; development of Allowance Appendage Pages(AAP) for new support items; development of Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD); and the maintenance of ship system configuration data
    • (b) Assist ship's force in identifying, locating and tracking parts, material, specialized tools and equipment required for routine periodic and specialized maintenance actions

Information Technology Systems Administrator (Police Department)
